This was actually a non-irritating snippet, LOL! I enjoy Sara Paretsky for just the reasons you mention - the social commentary is as good as the actual mystery in most cases. Didn't realize she had a new one, will have to add it to the list. I've been meaning to check out Patricia Raybon but I think I better go back and watch your review, I don't remember it! Her covers are so pretty to me. Thanks for this! Stay warm!

Gooooodddddd. I am so happy to hear another Paretsky reader is actually out there! Lol. I be wanting to chat with others about her books. And Raybon's covers--as the kids say these days--be SLAPPIN'.

Great books coming up. I'm in my James Mcbride book vibes now. Although I'm reading One Blood by Denene Millner and it's so good.

Lord, I can UNDERSTAND when you speak in being in your author reading vibe. I love that 'ish. McBride seems to be taking over the game with his new book. I happily see it everywhere. You have to tell me which one touched you the most. As well as how One Blood went!

@@TowelTroi One Blood is amazing but I have to take small bites of it. It's a bit triggering for me, since I was raised in the rural south. I have always been a McBride fan, although I have taken ten years off from reading. I use to be a huge EJD Eric Eric Jerome Dickey and Elan Harris fan.

why call them baddies if you dnf their books 😂

Mainly based off characters. As they are women in lead solving crimes. Regardless, I do/call things whatever I want as well as when I want. And I'll DNF and still call them such.
