For those who say this is fake... How can you prove it? The structure itself of the Waltz is very well organized, in the old fashioned style of Chopin... You'll realize it... If you play piano or sightread... At all
@eboone5 күн бұрын
can you prove it isn't fake?
@elwachus5 күн бұрын
@eboone Ofc. Chopin always uses pedal point in his chords, and it's present right there. That specific pedal point in the bass, that carries the subtle shift in the progressions. The reason he does this is to preserve the atmosphere... He is very nitpicky about his details. Very calculating about how things should play out. Also, I see some Hummel structure in some passages, something that resembles his Piano Sonatas or his Rondos.

@jakubjasinski98217 күн бұрын
I disagree - Mayer's piece has a kind of soppy sentimentality in it, completely alien to Chopin. This in turn is more bold and inventive harmonically
@ObiektywnyRecenzent6 күн бұрын
Mediocre? Why? Great masterpieces are not only about the technical difficulty, but also about the emotions which they evoke in the audience. This waltz does evoke strong emotions in me - and I hope I am not alone in that. Moreover, there is some similarity to Moniuszko's (another Polish Master of Romanticism, the inventor of the so-called "National Style" in Polish opera) waltzes. This is understandable because both Chopin and Moniuszko were inspired by folclore - especially by the mazurkas (in Polish: mazurki, Singular mazurek) - and the mazurka-like spirit is indeed present in this piece.
