Controversial take: Derek Carr is NOT the problem in New Orleans. Put this in perspective. Well he "hasn't _been"_ the problem this year the way he has been in the past the way His Decisions often harm the team. But Michael Thomas isn't All Wrong either. What kept Cousins from being respected *for years* was his poor performance in the clutch. The Very Reason no one was seriously thinking Goff was in the MVP discussion despite having more TDs than incomplete passes in his last 3-4 games was that everyone knows he melts under pressure & you can't argue against Lamar based on his playoff games then say Goff who falls apart under _less pressure_ is therefore great. Yes, the Vast Majority Of Fans Will seek to blame the easy target & not even look into if they're right or not. Didn't Yinzers get Matt Canada fired then say Pickett sucked? Justin Fields was making The Best highlight-reel passes weeks 2-3 then Arthur smith changed things & their passing game went south. Now everyone thinks weeks 5 & 6 were signs of *Fields* regressing & they were right to bench him but those problems were all Smith's play-calling. Then you come here & _say_ we're all wrong. Did you *prove* this? Not Really. You're just saying "nuh-unh." We may not be seeing the full picture, but neither are you.

Carr has only ever had a top 20 defense once in his career, and they were ranked exactly 20th. They went 12-3 with him that year. He's also never had the same HC for 3 years in a row. Most people expect perfection and anything less is unacceptable, which is why he gets criticized the way he does. He's not a mobile QB and he tends to fold under pressure, but outside of that when he has protection he can make mostly all the throws expected of him. People will say things like "well he needs everything to go right to be good", but it's a team sport for a reason and 1 man can't do it all. Look at Josh Allen or Lamar. At the end of the day tho it's just a game and some things we'll never know.
