I'd be ordering now if it had a manual and magnetic ride. But then I never drive on a track, just the street. But I like all the Nismo stuff and would pay the extra money, I just don't want to be beaten up over the expansion joints and rough roads. Supra has it figured out, I think Nissan will too over time.

I the NISMO the new transmission has 50% faster downshifts and 27% faster upshifts. Or vice versa I don’t remember.

Yea the Mustang and camero have bigger engines with bigger horsepower and torque numbers. So what. The NISMO is still faster. 0-60 in 3.9 seconds and I think when the tires and all the fluids have heated up on the right surface you could squeeze 3.7 out of it. Try doing that with your Mustang GT. The Z Performance is 4.4 0-60. The NISMO is where it’s at.

small sports cars with small power plants really needs Manuals to maximize engagement. This didn't powerful enough to justify DCTs

As I explained in the video, I did so to test Nissan’s claims about how responsive the transmission is. Also, using paddle shifters is no substitute for a gear stick and three pedals…

Go checkout what AMS is getting in quarter mile times with an Alpha 5 package... Once people see that = won't care as much! Personally - I don't mind the auto - provided Nissan solved the issues around cooling. So if you can do basic bolt ons and still have some reliability with the auto = I'm game. I think those that want the manual really just want that show off factor/impressing others > than the excuse around driving dynamics. They want to be able to redline it and shoot flames and all that "please notice me my parents didn't give me enough attention as a child" garbage... Just look at the abysmal behavior at car meets... I do think Nissan is correct - they understand there are buyers needs vs. fans needs. Most of the kids out there will be stuck repaying their student loanz > being able to pay for the new Z. Those that can/will buy - as Nissan suggests - are fine with the auto. AND = being that most of us are perpetually stuck behind Subaru Outback/Prius drivers = will be happy with the auto for livability.

BS the trans is horrible because I drove a Nismo last month. Slush box all the way. Slow slow shifts. No thanks NoMoo.

Dude are you out of your mind? The Nissan GTR is NOT $330,000. You can get a GTR for less than half of that. About $130,000 US. And it’s Z NOT Zed. Why do Canadians and Australians and British people always say zed? It’s annoying. Zed is a word. Z is a letter. And it’s pronounced ZEEE.

Man, there’s A LOT to unpack here! Sure, there are other versions of the GT-R that are cheaper, but none of them are badged Nismo cars. The actual GT-R Nismo has a base MSRP of about CAD$317,000; a new luxury tax in Canada adds another CAD$32,000, and then there’s freight, etc. Add it all up, and - well, I trust you can do the math from there. That Canadian dollar caveat makes a great segue into your next gripe: Yes, we pronounce it “zed,” but that’s because it’s the British way, which more closely mirrors the Greek letter zeta. And lo and behold, in Japan the same letter is pronounced “zetto.” Imagine that!
