2024 Norrona Lofoten Gore Tex Pro Anorak and Tamok Gore Tex Performance Bib Outerwear Review

That anorak is one of the most rugged hard shells on the market. Iäve had it for 2 seasons and I love it. It is loud because it is so rugged being 160D. It's on the same category with Arcteryx Alpha SV. Simply phenomenal. The extra long hem is super when sitting on snow or cold ski lifts. If the zips are all the way down it is good that you can open it up from the bottom as much as you want for better mobility. I use Lyngen Gore Tex Pro light pants with Lofoten bib with this anorak and it's the best combo I've ever had. My usage is about 50/50 on piste and ski-touring

I can't decide on what to replace my older jacket with. I've been using the (older?) Tamok Gore Tex Pro bib at 200D and the noise does get to me somtimes. The Tamok jackets do not quite fit (arms and length too long) but you can still find the 200D Gore Tex Pro models online. The Lofoten Gore Tex Pro fits better but there's something about 70D vs 200D that is really driving me mad in deciding.

Love Norrona gear. There's both a Tamok Gore-tex Pro bib and a Tamok Gore-tex performance bib. The GTX Pro bib is looser fitting in the seat and thighs than the Performance bib in the video. Also, the Lofoten Gore-tex Pro jacket is still long but not as long as the Anorak if anyone is concerned about the length of the anorak. The Norrona website also has great prices on their outlet sales for last season colours, 50% off or more.

For those new to the bib tribe… Bibs have all the fit challenges of pants and shirts, so be prepared to try on a few different sizes and styles.

My back/butt area gets cold because my jacket isn't long enough.. I even got some bibs rather than my ski pants and I think it is more about my jacket not being long enough..

I'm 5' 8" and athletic build around 175-180 pounds. Do you think a size Medium would be OK for me if I want to potentially layer underneath? Thanks!

Jeff's a bit taller and a bit lighter and he found the Large to be roomy. I bet you're a medium keeping layering in mind.

Well those are some high tech jacket/bib... but check the price ... $850 and $600. Oh man I always laugh at people buying those expensive ski jackets/pants (when driving a tiny Kia) don't get me wrong i believe kia makes great cars

Keep in mind, too, that there's always something more expensive. Some of the outerwear these days pushes the price just to push the price.

Personally, not a fan of of all the ''straight sided'' stuff for skiing. Face it, it's for boarders, leave it to the dark side.
