This is one tradition that sets New York apart. We celebrate the Irish because the people from Ireland and of Irish descent have given so much to the success of making New York one of the major cities around the world. You don't have to be Irish to celebrate St. Patrick's Day, but you do have to have a warm spot in your heart for the Irish. According to Celtic titles: "Wherever you go, whatever you do, may the luck of the Irish be there with you," Happy St. Patrick's Day everyone.

@@jjns5600 I can say the same about Boston, thanks for bringing that up. But don't forget St. Patrick's Cathedral can only be found in New York. It's like having an older twin brother, he is only minutes older but he will always be your older brother for life. Oh Danny Boy, the pipes the pipes are calling... LOL. Happy St. Patrick's Day.

More miserable Scots taking offence. The Irish had warpipes over 1100 years ago. Bagpipes became popular after the Highlands were assimilated into British military and were manufactured and sold on a large scale. Kilts were derived from the Gaelic Brat and Great kilt. Irish and original Scottish were tied genetically, culturally and linguistically for eons. Incredible how modern Scot pseudo-nationalists have no idea of their own peoples history.

Lovely celebration, it looks so good guys, what about celebrating all other immigrants the same way? How many French immigrants are there? Why not a French parade as well? Then Greek ones, people of Haiti as well, Cuba or Puerto Rico, can you imagine what a great show it would be? Everybody deserves this kind of redemption event, of being proud of their immigrants success in USA, the best way to remind a nation, there's no a suprematists arian race because the multi national multi cultural heritage is a huge asset for each one of us. Ancestors traditions are so spectacular, African as well, what about the immigrants of Vietnam? Brasil? They have such gorgeous traditions, well... from my behalf guys, we could paaaarty all day long, it's worthy, much more convenient than any war dispute, we need no further war hostilities Ok? Let's fight back American haters with this ...pride of the immigrants. Centuries ago there were Irish ones not very welcomed invaders in American lands, well, thanks God human some evolve and we are here to enjoy the paaaarty 🎉❤🎉, big loving hug all lovers of Ireland world wide, if they can make it...anyone can💎🍀🥂💋🤗💐🎻📀🎉🎧💝🌈💯
