The commentary is so much better here then listening on Fox Because it’s 2 bowlers talking bowlers not one trying to explain everything to the other guy.

As a historical note, the "Tournament of Champions" was a PBA tournament that to qualify you had to have previously won a PBA tournament. That is why it included the word "champions." There was also a list kept so that a new champion would bump the oldest champion off the list. That added a nice extra prize for PBA competitors who hadn't won yet, and a punishment for old timers. The TOC was the last PBA tournament of the season, sort of like the bowling Superbowl. Unfortunately, the PBA discarded all that storied history by eliminating the champion restriction and moving the TOC to mid-season demoting it to just another tournament. It is good to see that today's competitors in the PBA50 TOC are all previous winners.

If you are just a regional champion and not a National tour champion could you still bowl the pba50 TOC? I know you have to go through a PTQ on the kids tour
@drwisdom15 ай бұрын
@@bowlnow824 I suspect it is just a coincidence that these competitors are all previous winners, not a requirement. But it is still nice since it is named TOC.
@bowlnow8245 ай бұрын
@@drwisdom1 the reason why I say this is because of the national tour you have a PTQ at every event. The pba50 TOC is open to all people over 50.

@@bowlnow824 In my bowling file is a ticket from when I went to the 1986 TOC at Riviera Lanes.

@@bowlnow824 If you can get into the TOC with a PTQ then that means it is a TOC in name only. But being at Riviera Lanes is getting half way there.

27 and 28 are the Legendary Pair of Lanes in both the Pba and Pba50 Tournament of Champions. Also, both Tom Hess and Mika Koivuniemi are the best bowlers on the Pba50 Tour.

I've seen Mika bowl many times on TV this year. Clearly he's bowling great, just as he did today. But every time when he's trying to win a title, the other guy throws a great game against him. It's been pretty bad luck for him. But, he is still one of my favorite bowlers.

I wish there was an event similar to the one pba event where the celebrities bowl with the pba tour pros but have selected special Olympics athletes that bowl, bowl in teams of four like in a league but with two pba tour pros and two special Olympics athletes to a team and to make it fair take the average of the special Olympics athletes and do handicap adding pins to their scores like in a lot of bowling leagues.

If they fix the miner miner divots in those few Lanes at Kenmore Lanes in Kenmore Washington that place would be great for a pba or pba tour stop. Kenmore Lanes has 50 lanes so it would be perfect for a tournament like that.

If Brad adjusted his glasses 7 more times he would have won the tournament imo

Mika would have won had that final match been world scoring. I have only seen that done once.
