So Jesse , Bruce , I went to the sled show up here in Toronto yesterday. Accelerated technologies. One of the best in the world for suspension. I talked about u boys and this video. They say the hd spring on my 23 xcr is too soft 💯 no matter what. They also recommended that I keep my front track shock spring( stock ) they work. I’m about 220/230 6’1” Soooo I’m Going to take my sled to accelerated technologies and see what they can do for myself personally. About $ 300 bucks Canadian per shock per revalve, is quoted. I think I may actually start to make some videos myself ?! I ride similar to you Jesse, ex mx’r // hard enduro. So suspension is key as we all know. I thought I knew a bunch about suspension but for snow machines, this stuff takes time. My old pro s took me about 1000/1500 kms before I had it dialed into what I required. If I was still riding my 2016 LE with needle walkers I’d be spending about 2500 Canadian to revalve ext. now the wife is getting it after a top end is done. Thanks so much again for the videos. Oh and I do the spring rates you boys recommend. I want my sled on rails that’s the goal. Period. Limiter is out on the pro s woke up the fun factor. Putting it back to stock for the wife. Cheers

Accelerated has great stuff. very very smart guys and many guys love their work. all suspension guys have different opinions on what works and what does not. what i can tell you is the 99% of people that they set sleds up for do not ride on what me and Bruce ride on. most of their riders ride on super highways with no bumps in sight. does their stiff work for that? from what i hear yes. but we ride on very very different conditions. so do i agree with everything they do? no. and thats ok because i am not riding their trails. do i agree with what they said about HD springs and the FTS/ absolutely not. But again they have very different conditions. so i hope they get your sled to work for your conditions. as long as youre happy we are happy. touch base down the road and let me know how it is!

Here’s what I found that works, If you’re average weight 185-220 lbs, and ride aggressively you should run the CC FTS spring, piston, and valving, 7 wt oil in the RTS, and 125 lbs IFS springs (2022 CC springs) with 7 wt oil. At least 200 psi in all the shocks and set all the clickers to 2022 CC specs and let ‘er rip! I also run CC spindles and C&A razors
@JESSEJAMES322
@JESSEJAMES322 8 ай бұрын
definitely an option. problem is CC valving is a It harsh for many riders so we have set ups and valve stacks that fit all types of riders. we do extensive testing with a ton of differnet set ups to get everyones sled dialed in for them!

Thank you. So can you share how you would stud a 24 xcr 136 850 for a 185 lb beginner who is relatively aggressive? Woodys seems to be suggesting three and even 3 1/2 studs per with an 8 inch carbide and I think that his video shows a 2 per and another video showed a 4 0 4 0 pattern. A number of your videos talk about two per being enough for an NA sled. I love the look of the two doubles on every second row but I think the scratch lines on a 3 per are better? Argh Confused on how much to buy and I know you have ridden them all!

Hey Jesse, Great video. I have a 22 XCR850 and I weigh 210lbs without gear/235 plus with gear and a tunnel bag over 20lbs. HD torsion springs (on high), Cross country rear shock spring and all shocks re-valved by Bruce for aggressive riding. When I hit G outs or high-speed rough bumps the rear shocks hits hard. This was after trying the recommended settings in this video. I spoke to John at Southside and he said adjust the center shock to 1/2" and check the limiter strap. I also adjusted the high and low speed clickers 3 from full stiff in the rear. I did 115 miles on Saturday and it was better than the first ride but still the same nagging issue for G outs and high speed rough bumps. Do you have any suggestions?

We have touched on this a bunch of times. We would highly recommend getting a full revalved and re-sprung all around. Those XC’s with the QS3’s only come with 80 pound front springs. @JESSEJAMES322
@JESSEJAMES322 8 ай бұрын
we sugget have It because of the spring not the shock. the spring being so soft does nothing after a certain amount of preload. if you had 100's then then putting preload in makes a difference becuae the spring has the energy to make a difference. the 80's barely have enough energy to hold the sled up. adding preload does almost nothing
@JLeosnow1
@JLeosnow1 6 ай бұрын
@JESSEJAMES322 Could you or Bruce take a measurement of the rear suspension/front shock coil spring distance using the lower spring retainer to the lower shock body end cap(or amount of threads exposed)? I know Bruce said 1/8”-1/4” preload from 0 preload, but when it’s installed in the sled with that rubber spring boot installed, it’s difficult to find the sweet spot of 0 preload. Thanks!!
@JESSEJAMES322
@JESSEJAMES322 6 ай бұрын
so its just when the spring has no tension on it and then add 1/8-1/4 to that measurment. loosen it extra. hold the soring up then run the retainer back to the spring. thats how we do it. i hope that helps
@JLeosnow1
@JLeosnow1 6 ай бұрын
@@JESSEJAMES322 Thanks for the reply. It's just that it's so tough to actually tell when there is actually NO tension with the rubber boot in the spring... that's why I was looking for an actual measurement. I'm afraid that it may be too loose and cause an issue when unloaded.

@JESSEJAMES322 9 ай бұрын
Hey Nick. So Bruce ran a few of those set ups on the front last year and we were not happy with them because the front end sagged too much. when that happens it puts more of the track on the ground causing inside ski lift and pushing in the corners. was this the only thing he did or did he do any valving etc?

few things. start by adding preload into your ski springs until you run outta threads so max amount of preload in the ski springs. 2. 4 inch carbides do practically nothing. a good set of 8 inch woodys mavericks would do wonders. after those two things the only other option would be shortening the limiter strap which ive done videos on in the past
