Now with the updates to the Dynamix vr1 ( 2" shock body, HD torsion springs, heavier front track spring) it is alos closer to the xcr. Xcr does have the tipped up reinforced rail, heavier brake ect. I have a 23 xcr 850 and love it. I have been waiting for Dynamix for a few years. I would not hesitate to get a vr1 Dynamix, but I will give them another year( to get the buds out )

Is there an override - say if you want to run the sled with the shocks as normal or if the electronics fail - and what would happen if it did fail, does it go into full firm?

im sure if there is a fault they will default to some setting (not sure that answer) but as far as running them in manual mode that is not an option.

Does this effectively eliminate the benefits of the XCR suspension over the VR1's? I mean the shocks in my 2024 XCR seem to be the real differentiator over our 2024 VR1 Boost.

there are a few ways to look at that side of things but these should be the best option across all types of riders and riding

well the XCR is still going to be more "heavy duty" as far as shocks and you'll be somewhat beholden to the suspension "tuning" options of this system, so if you don't like how any mode rides in given conditions you're SOL. Where as you can set your HI/LO clickers any way you want on your XCR. That said active shocks are pretty neat and have been used in performance cars for years

which is why we want to get on one and start the process of figuring out how to be able to tune Dynamix and get it to each riders preference. if we have that option this is the ultimate package

At the very least they might help get the process moving forward quickly. Guaranteed it will happen just a matter of when. Ski doo smart shox has a aftermarket tune already.

the 9R? yes it will fit. If you are going to do a crate motor 9R do an 850 because 99% of the things switch over. If you did a 650 then alot of components need to be changed. Where are you located? we have done 3 9R builds in the last two years if you look at previous videos

it does not adjust rebound. rebound is a standard valve stack as i understand. however guys that i trust that have ridden this said the sled is SO settled becaise of the live ride that the rebound feels great

Ok I guess I'm stupid 😅. But shocks are reactive right? So my question is how can shocks adjust themselves unless it hits a bump first. Seems like it would have to know the bump is coming in order to adjust to it. 😅just my thoughts.

Not just bumps, cornering, braking, acceleration. If trail gets rough, it will stiffen up. Works great in the side by sides

How does this differ from the special edition Mach Z that skidoo had a couple years ago? Just that Polaris has all of the shocks on the controller?

yes and the inner workings of the system are different. This is based on a gyro etc (super techy stuff) and skidoos was just a standard based system.

Really, that is the difference 🤔.I would put any faith in that. I am sure someone from the manufacturers could provide the tech on each. I wonder how significant the ctr shock is in the semi active system. If it IS significant, SKI-DOO would have included it. They don't short cut innovation. Plus they thoughly test it. ...something Polaris skipped the last few years.

Smart shox are more ( shock itself) sophisticated, they are a bypass shock and adjust rebound too. The range of adjustment is crazy. I'm scared to stroke one full stiff at 30 inches per second. I'm excited to see how both compare to each other. One think some might not like is it possibly will take some fun factor out of the sled.
