I wanna know when it’s safe and not safe to touch those cars. I saw the BMW LMDH car and it had a little green tag on the roof saying the car was discharged and safe. I briefly spoke to one of the guys with BMW and he said because of the high voltage when the car is live you can’t touch it unless your wearing specific clothing.

How can a V8 still sounds a liitle like a pure B6?
@phillyphil15137 ай бұрын
A: high efficiency hot V turbos. much like heat sound is also a form of energy, so by virtue of the process of converting the spent exhaust gases into boost, they act like mufflers and kill the sound. this speaks to what everybody hates about the groaning 6's that replaced the NA V8's and V10's in F1.
@RafaelOliveiraBR7 ай бұрын
@@phillyphil1513 Thank you for the explanation, sir.
@rickrolled7930Ай бұрын
@@phillyphil1513 does it have anything to do with the positioning of the turbos? I don't really think it matters if it's a hot or a cold v, turbos will still muffle.
@phillyphil1513Ай бұрын
@@rickrolled7930 Q: does it have anything to do with the positioning of the turbos? A: yes. re: "I don't really think it matters if it's a hot or a cold v, turbos will still muffle." correct, however the closer you locate the turbo to the hottest point of the exhaust gases, the greater the potential sound attenuation will be ie, you're increasing the efficiency of the set up which is the original idea behind the "Hot-V". notice the new TT ZR1 for 2025 technically doesn't use a "Hot-V" but the overall shortened path for the charge air nevertheless ROBS much of the Z06/LT6 sound that has quickly formed that engine's character being a new design only 2 years old... of course (thanks to the last 25 years of Diesel development) the Aerodynamics, Thermodynamics, Blade Design, etc of the internals, the Turbo Charger itself is the model of "efficiency" regardless of where it's located (which is a limited choice anyway).
