2024 RAM 3500 Heavy Duty Cummins 5th wheel prep? what is it and why is it a must have!

Excellent points on just ordering this from the factory if you can wait to order your vehicle. I was opted on not ordering these when I ordered a Ford Super Duty as I wasn't sure it would be worth it to me when I found my Ram. More specifically, I wasn't sure if they would get in the way or not if I didn't use them and the answer to that is obviously "no." Fortunately for me, my MY23 Ram Rebel HD came with the 5th wheel /Gooseneck Towing Prep Group and even if I never use it myself, it only adds value to the overall vehicle in case somebody after me needs/wants them. For the overall price of the vehicle, this was a $545 option and so in that perspective, they really ought to just be standard for most higher trims. So much easier just getting it done up front when they assemble the trucks than trying to retrofit it after the fact.

After installing bed rails in my 2016 Ram 2500 CTD to a puck system in my new Chevy 3500 Duramax, I’ll never have another truck without the puck system and bed 7 pin connector.

Idk if anyone knows but I can’t figure out how to change the dashboard trailer type from conventional to goose/5th on my 2024 ram 3500 bighorn

I’m looking at new 2500 and 3500’s to buy in my area and none of them have the factory puck system. What does anyone think of having the dealer install it? They already offer spray in liners and window tint cheaper than the indy shops so I always have them do that anyway. Never seen this before where I flat out couldn’t find a factory system in available new trucks for my 5th wheel.

With ram and ford absolutely could have them do it, especially over old school bed rails.
