Definitely a truck I've enjoyed, but is it worth the cost to you or are you an "Anything but Dodge" kinda person?

Would you rather go with a Power Wagon or 2500 Rebel?
@alancontreras50539 ай бұрын
My wife was in the market for a TRX and we test drove a few and almost signed off on one, but then she saw a 24 Rebel 2500. She test drove it and fell in love, more than the exciting TRX. it is a solid and surprisingly a comfortable truck. We Love it.
@PhilipBlank8 ай бұрын
I think that’s en excellent decision! Both great trucks, but the TRX is highly impractical that makes you sacrifice to daily it. I hope the Rebel continues to please, super solid and I’m a big fan.

Most trucks on the market that claim to be 4X4 or off road trucks are actually not very capable. They don’t have hardly any under body protection and they don’t have locking diffs. It’s a marketing ploy. Without at least having rear lockers, you’re only going to have two wheel drive in slippery situations, one wheel spinning in the front, and one wheel spinning in the rear. This truck is a work truck with plenty of under body protection, rear lockers, and a helical gear limited slip rear differential. It’s definitely fun off road, but when you have to tow a heavy load through mountain trails, up and down muddy and snow covered roads, or across any uneven terrain, this truck will out preform most any other truck in those situations.

I would like to have seen more skid plates in under it, really the big one is the fuel tank plate but leaves other open spots.
@malcolmn.5222Ай бұрын
Unless you're rock crawling, or are in very uneven pavement, lockers aren't needed for most off road scenarios
@jwalesoutlaw329420 күн бұрын
Not necessarily. Any situation that causes significant loss of traction across wheels a locker will help. Especially steep icy paved roads where you can find traction on one side of the vehicle but not the other. experienced this mulitple times headed to the slopes in crap weather@malcolmn.5222

What is the specs of the rims and tires and do u have a lift it in or level kit or is is on completely stock suspension I have a 2023 same truck just wit the diesel motor wit rear air I want to put 35” on it but not trying to do any suspension modification I like it to keep it all stock suspension so if you could tell me what size the tires are what size the rims are the whole package and if you have any suspension modification or if it’s all stock suspension and do you have any issues any rubbing wit the tires on any suspension parts 0:15
@PhilipBlank7 ай бұрын
Oh goodness! You want all the stats, I believe this is everything: the suspension has not been touched, all stock. It does have the air ride in the back as well. The rims are Fuel Blitz D674, 20mm offset PN D67418908257. The tires are Nitto Ridge Grapplers in 35x12.50 R 18LT. They fit fine, I’ve read you can even fit 37’s but they are tight. Now you’re running the Cummins that weighs significantly more up front, so unless Ram changed the coils for the extra weight, there is a chance your going to droop more on stock suspension so no guarantees you don’t have rub concerns on the front even with 35’s, just need to find you a good tire place who would let you do a fit-up and trial to test before going all in. Like all tires it can be trial and error.

@@PhilipBlank Just came across this review, and I absolutely love those wheels and tires, as well. I've had my MY23 RAM 2500 Rebel with the Cummins for a little over a year now, and I've been picky about going with the right wheel and tire combo. I'll have to verify up front with the extra weight, but I think this is the look I've been wanting! Thank you!

My Rebel has the retractable rails. Is there a way to keep them out when parked? Or can they just be replaced with stationary ones?
@PhilipBlank3 ай бұрын
Reading some forms people say in the U-Connect Controls app there may be a setting about deploying and auto-deploy? Maybe there is something in there that says “leave deployed on lock” but I don’t have one with retractable steps to figure out sorry!

Does the Rebel 2500 have the factory lift kit like the Power Wagon has?
@PhilipBlank7 ай бұрын
I believe the 2024 Rebel has 13.3 ground clearance where the PW has 14.2 so the factory height is not the same, the Rebel is a bit more towing focused without the sway bar disconnect in the front.
@jeffrey10164 ай бұрын
Yes it is lifted but it's. It as high. I owned a 2022 power wagon and just upgraded to a 2024 rebel Cummings, it's different and not as high but still great. I needed the towing.
@theWaltSmallwood4 ай бұрын
@@jeffrey1016 - Thanks. I compared them at the dealership and the wagon does sit higher, so I purchased a 2024 Power Wagon. I don’t tow anything. A fun truck to drive.

What's the payload capacity on this one?
@PhilipBlank4 ай бұрын
The payload on this guy is a bit over 3000 pounds, I believe it’s like 3,100 or so but would have to check with the air ride suspension if that reduces it.
@pedrohizzle28352 ай бұрын
the rebel is 2" higher in rear than the power wagon?
@PhilipBlank2 ай бұрын
Honestly I’d read so many things that contradicted that I don’t remember what I said when I filmed but I am fairly certain the Power Wagon get’s the 2 in lift in the rear since it is not set up for towing as much. Not sure if you get the load leveling shocks on the Rebel how this plays into the clearance or not.
@qiqi72263 ай бұрын
I’m driving a 1500 rebel do you think 2500 will be too much more uncomfortable than 1500?
@PhilipBlank3 ай бұрын
This does sit several inches wider and is longer for crew to crew, so I would definitely give it a test drive! Interior volume is pretty close, bit larger on the 2500 but if you’re needing it for towing then larger size is going to be the sacrifice. Also if you’re parking in a garage check your dimensions as this thing is long! Similar body size to the TRX even though that’s a 1500.

A lot of money for a truck you can't get in Mega cab or 8ft bed or larger capacity fuel tank or front sway disconnect or front locker. And you can't get it in a 1 ton 3500 either. It is a nice vehicle but I'll end up buying one with under 30k miles on it a whole lot cheaper in very good condition. Or I'll buy a new Ford XL with long bed and off road package and winch with much higher payload and fuel tank. For about 60k brand new 69k if you want diesel engine. You can also get the Ford with lower gearing for towing and off road.
@PhilipBlank7 ай бұрын
That's the truth! Trucks can be nuts expensive. Really now a-days you pick your needs and set the budget. Everyone has better or worse on specifics, but thankfully there are so many options you can find the brand that has the exact specs for your needs. Personally have never needed an 8 ft bed, but I am a fan of the larger cap fuel tanks.
