Good for you. The older I get I just don’t set any goals anymore. I just do what the moods take me, especially for reading😊

Tom Felton's autobiography was really good... since you are also rereading Harry Potter.

Have you read In Cold Blood? Definitely recommend that!

I plan to cancel my BOTM subscription and catch up on my unread BOTM. I also want to work on series and determine if I want to continue with those series or not. I saw something on Booktube that was part of someone's journal. It was called read books to get books. I am going to force myself to read five books before I can buy another book. Little Free Library hauls don't count.

If you are at all interested in the O.J. Simpson case, my recommendation is to read Triumph of Justice by Daniel Petrocelli. He was the attorney for the Goldman family during the civil case - and it was fascinating to me, as it exposes evidence that didn't come out during the criminal trial, and being a civil case, O.J. was required to testify. It includes his testimony. The civil trial was not the circus that the criminal trial was.

I haven’t even thought about potential reading goals. I follow Emily fox’s channel. Because of her I bought a giant glass jar to put all my book titles in. I plan to draw from there. But I also might put all the movies on my watchlist in there and draw that instead.

My reading goals for 2024: Goodreads goal of 52 books (I may actually set it at 72 books because last year and this year I read 90 books), read the books that I own, finish some series that I own, and I have some reading challenges that I am doing.

A very short favorite nonfiction from this year…The Sound of a Wild Snail Eating by Elizabeth Tove Bailey.

Killers of the Flower Moon maybe. It is certainly true crime, but the events were so long ago that there are a lot of unanswered questions still, and it doesn't have the same level of forensic detail as modern crimes. Death's Acre by Bill Blass was FULL of forensic detail, but doesn't cover any one crime in much depth. But I enjoyed both of them. I wrapped up 12 books that have been lingering on my shelves. You know, the ones I'm interested in enough to not want to get rid of, but that I'm not actually likely to pick up. I'm going to have my kids chose one for me each month to add to my TBR.

Hi! I read 82 booksthis year, I don't do a reading goal, I readfor the enjoyment and education of it. I will be reading a couple of series in January so I can rid my collection of some chunky books lol. Just mercy and the sun does shine are both very good.

I know you’re a HP fan but I can’t remember if you read either Tom Felton or Evanna Lynch’s books. They are both FANTASTIC at narrating. If you love the show “Queer Eye”, Jonathan Van Ness has a bio out which he narrates and it’s fabulous. Throwing this out there since I try to read a lot of NF and “In Love” by Amy Bloom was one of the best I’d read. Loved the audiobook for that as well. It’s the story of her and her husband’s journey to find a way to end his life the way he wants to before his Alzheimer’s does. I felt everything they were feeling throughout that book and I recommend it constantly.

I haven't fully set my 2024 goals, but 2023 was the first year in a long time that I met all my goals for reading. So that was nice. For non-fiction I have to go with The Radium Girls by Kate Moore. I love non-fiction and that is the one I will shamelessly shove in anyone's face. Lol

Awesome goals! I like how they're focused on things you will enjoy. My only goals are Buzzwordathon and to read six classics. Keeping it simple leaves plenty of wiggle room as readathons come up throughout the year.

I love your vlogs so your plans to do more of them greatly excites me. My biggest goal is to read from my shelf. I hope to have a No New Buy book year and start reading down my incredibly long catalog. Of course, the exceptions will be my auto-buy series authors. I always enjoy re-reading these books. I want to limit irresistible new releases to books I can borrow or find on Kindle Unlimited. Good luck to both of us!

i’m not sure what all my goals are for the year. o wanna read more Abby Jimenez and Kristin Hannah. I really liked the Four Winds even though it wasn’t a very happy read. I read quite a few nonfiction books this year because I was gifted a book about an elephant sanctuary In South Africa which ended up my first book of 2023. My other favorite nonfiction of the year was Bono’s book about his U2 career.

Awesome goals! I need to get back into insta. I was doing well, then flopped. I did Monica's bookmas box so I've been posting that. Almost have done it daily to try to get back in the habit. I like true crime. My favorite author there is Anne Rule. I recall you picking up Small Sacrifices. Been years since I read it, high school. The I-5 Killer was a good read also. Weird saying they're good. I did a buddy read with The Stranger Beside Me and The Golden State Killer. I'm definitely working on reading my shelf this year, and as far as book buying next year, well that's already out the window 😂. I'm working on my reading goal. I was going to do 104. Which is high, but I was looking at 1 physical and I was Kindle read per week. But I have a lot of tome books I really need to get read, so I'm still debating. Merry Christmas!

9/11 nonfiction suggestion: the day the world came to town. It’s not the most stellar riding, but it was an interesting read. celebrity memoir: talking as fast as I can, by Lauren Graham Not a celebrity memoir, but fascinating: the girl with seven names (about a North Korean defector) My main goal for next year is my Pages goal, which I think I’m going to set at 20,000 again. I do the buzz word reading challenge every year From Books and Lala. Besides that, I have a list of about 45 books that have been on my TBR, and every time I hear someone else talk about them, I think, “ oh, yeah! I’ve been wanting to read that!”

I’m reading Burn it Down by Maureen Ryan and it’s all about Hollywood and how it shoots itself in the foot. The audiobook is great. I plan to set my Goodreads goal at 100, stop trying to read longer books (since I DNF them 9 times out of 10) and stop trying to read books I’ve already tried (I’m notorious for DNF’ing and then coming back). I also have some reading best practices so I want to stick to those because they’re best practices for a reason.

If You Tell by Gregg Olsen is the best true crime book that I have read. It reads like fiction and the story is so horrifying you think that it can't possible be true but it most definitely is.

Good goals! I’m not much of a reading goal setter anymore. I do want to read more Charles Dickens though. And I do try to read a few books from the Great American Read list every year. And if you like Ann Rule, read her book about Diane Downs, Small Sacrifices. I still think about that book.
