I’m in a completely different season of life than you all are in BUT I have loved the switch to more holistic living content. I am desperately trying to detoxify our home and seeing what you all are doing is showing me some simple changes I can make one at a time to get to where we want to be. I also absolutely love 💕 our backyard garden and I love that y’all are scaling down to more of that content again. Working in our garden keeps me sane and fed 😂. Even in our smoking GA summers. I also absolutely love listening to podcasts when I’m driving home from my 7-4 and when I’m working around the house so I’m stoked about the podcast ❤. Bottom line….. I’m glad y’all are scaling back a bit and changing your focus back to some “simpler” things, if you will. I can’t wait to see what 2025 brings for y’all!! 🎉

Guests would be great on your podcast but natural guests, like when someone comes to visit. It would be fun to hear from Natalie about worm farming, or moving to TN from CA, Nathan’s mom or sibling talking about how family farming has changed, Nathan talking with a male friend about his role in creating a homestead/farm and how to best support wives who have the same goals as you/we do. 2025 sounds like it is going to be an incredible year for you!!

Hi Jill and Nathan! I'm relatively new here--longtime Jess and Miah Sowards viewer across their three channels--but I'm loving getting to know you both. Cannot wait for your podcast, and I'm so glad to hear that the topics will be wide-ranging. As someone who just got married and who wants to go into business with my husband, I want to know all the details. You both have created a beautiful and wonderful family and I'm sure it wasn't easy but I bet you learned lots of lessons along the way. I'll be refreshing Apple podcasts till I see yours go live, and congratulations!

I'm so excited for your family to step into a new year that is more aligned to this season of life. This is such an invaluable lesson that sets a great example, especially for those new to backyard homesteading who may bite off more than they can chew in those first few years (I'm exposing myself here). Love the vulnerability in what sparks joy vs. revenue on the farm and the impact that has on the family unit. We are welcoming our third baby any time now and have really had to take a look at what is attainable and sustainable. I am so looking forward to seeing more day in the life content, how your seeds grow this year, and listening in on the podcast. Cheers to a fruitful year!

Personally, I love all your videos because all of them truly are informational! The ones I look forward to the most though are honestly the ones where you have a "day in the life" vibe or ones where you talk about the stuff you use everyday! Three videos that have stood out to me recently are your daily supplements routine, your most used preservation tools, and your pantry inventory/buying on a budget video. I found Azure Standard because of you and....gamechanging!! And Nathan, I'm sorry but I'm gonna say it again, youre girl has got to give us the scoop on what she does to keep herself looking fantastic all the time!!!🤩 I need more what makeup and skincare do you use, what household and cleaning products yall use, what kind of body care products you guys use, etc. Im understanding more on the healthy ways and swaps in the food department but would love nore insight and ideas for every day and around the house stuff too! 😊

I couldn’t pick a favorite video!! I look forward to every single one! I am super excited about the podcast, but I’m a little bummed about the KZbin “scale back.” I haven’t commented much, so hi!! I’m a sahm of 5, 3 out of the 5 I’m homeschooling, so as I know you know, I’m super busy. There’s not a lot of time in my day to sit down and read, and research. Most of my consuming is listening to KZbinrs, or podcasters while I’m cooking or cleaning. Which is why I’m excited that there’s also going to be a podcast!! You guys are great! My herbalist journey/gardening journey started when my 3 yo was so sick all summer long (2023) with a cough that wouldn’t go away, and he couldn’t breath through his nose, and I was having a baby. I was so scared to bring my newborn home to my sick 3 year old. No over the counter drugs were working, and I felt useless. So with a simple KZbin search “herbs for….” I don’t even remember what I put in, but your video came up…you were out in your cottage garden talking about your top 10 herbs, and then I listened to Kayleigh’s over at the Honeystead, and I’ve been hooked every since!! I made fire cider for the first time that fall, and we went a whole year without being sick!! It was amazing! Oh!…I got a sinus infection, and healed it naturally. I couldn’t believe it!! But that was it! I’ve been on this journey of herbal medicine, and “the truth about what we eat” for the past year and half, and I couldn’t go back!! I have a whole apothecary cabinet filled with herbs, and tinctures, and fire cider, and now my whole family is thinking about buying a big plot of land and start farming together! I’m just so thankful for you guys (and many others) who lit that fire inside me!! It made me connect with our Lord differently, and see His creation thru a different lense, full of gratitude, wonder, and amazement! Anyways, this has gotten so long, but I don’t hardly ever comment, and I thought that this would be a good time to say….THANK YOU from the bottom of my heart for being who you guys are, and having a heart eager to teach, and for just sharing your lives with us!! love you guys! Can’t wait for 2025! ❤

@Joylegacy59 күн бұрын
@ I don’t know if I’d call it bravery….as much as “enlightened” lol if that makes sense. It just hit me one day “why am I pumping my kids full of things (over the counter meds) that aren’t even helping. There’s got to be a better way!!” And when fire cider kept us healthy for an entire winter, it just opened my eyes!! 🙏🏻

I've gotten caught up in watching the short form videos and have found myself less and less satisfied, so thank you for focusing on long videos! I love the idea of a podcast! I would really enjoy watching videos that go from the start of seeds to what you do each step of the way. I'm not a new gardener, but wanting to have a higher yield has me looking for more information about each specific vegetable and it's hard to find. I do have one item of feedback... I don't know that much about audio when recording videos/podcasts, but I had to turn my laptop all the way up to hear you in this video (and then the ads were too loud!). If there was a way to make your voices louder, that would be wonderful! Many blessings on your family this year!

I am here 👏 for 👏 this!! I've watched y’all for 2 years now. The real, raw, and practical aspects of daily life on the homestead. The rawness of sharing the pivots! You remind me as a driven women and mother that we can do it all, but we dont have to! Choose your joy in a world of chaos! I have the pretty backyard garden and thought last year that I also wanted to go market big. I have given myself permission to accept that it is not actually my goal. I want to feed my family the best I can while growing in grace and God! ❤ Stay true to you because you are enough!

Happy New Year to both of you and your beautiful family. I enjoy all the content you post but I have to say I’m not a fan of the “Shorts” , while the information may be interesting it’s so fast I can’t grasp it very well. I feel like I’m missing some of the steps. I like the longer form videos. I love the planting and harvesting process. Steps of keeping the pests out of the garden. I have been wondering about the original raised bed garden area. What are the plans for it? Have you started transforming it yet?Podcasts videos for me are great. Talking through a plan and your visions for the project. I’m excited to see what you share with us. Have a blessed weekend ahead 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻❤️❤️❤️

It has more to do with who you are than what you produce. I just happen to love seeing the love you have for your life. You are so inspiring 💚 looking forward to podcasts. 😇

We’re glad you found us and we love making both types of videos. KZbin is challenging, especially getting started. I encourage you to keep going if it’s important to you. There are so many courses and webinars around KZbin best practices.

I prefer long form content so I am super happy to hear you'll be bringing more of this in 2025. Also looking forward to your gardens with a focus on feeding your family instead of for selling. Can't wait to see the shop come together too!

I wonder how many other Moms started to 'jiggle' their arms as if they were holding Ziggy? Or maybe it was just me lol Thank you so much for this lovely recap of 2024 and forecast for 2025. I've learned a lot from your videos, and now it looks like I might have to learn how to use Pintrest ( I seriously don't have a clue. Maybe you could make a video to assist me? ha ha) I don't have a favorite video, as there are so very many great ones from you. I'm so looking forward to seeing your new developments. Happy New Year to you all, and thank you from the heart for sharing so much with us xxxx

Hallelujah guys! Honestly… I think with what’s going on with the world.. we are meant to be going inward and focus on being humble and taking a breather for gratitude for what we have… stop hustling so damn hard like the world we’ve been conditioned to do.. and trust that THAT will create all the abundance we always wished for… by doing less. The world is crumbling. The old is being shed and dismantled so that our futures can be bright and create a new earth and way of living and being. I’m learning the same thing on a homestead in northern Ontario. It’s time to breathe and take it all in and live in the moments. Our rewards will be ten fold❤️

And how beautiful is it that IM SURE… the traction you’ve always wished for, will come when you get to sit down with your spouse and relax and just talk. Connect. With each other and all of us! In return not only will you generate more income but youll elevate your soul on a whole other level. There’s always another way 👌😘

Many times when I need to learn something I go back to the video I saw it in and rewatch it many times if needed til I learn whatever the process is. I know I’m not the only one. These types of videos become reference videos

Haha love the comment about dorty the kitchen this so true!! My hubs said I remember when our kitchen was clean and nice and didn't have all these canning things in them. He said multiple times I need a she shed so I can leave those items in there and have a nice clean kitchen lol.... but so true I have things drying and potatoes stored all my canning containers and there not enough storage and cabinet space. Lol so true!!

It is a shame that the You Tube algorithms can be so controlling of content, am seeing other content creators also having to rethink or pivot in order to give the algorithms what they want, but still trying to stay true to the content they want to present. Your plans sound exciting, including the podcast, and we are all looking forward to what happens in this new year. Blessings to your family.

I am looking forward to the gardening and cooking videos. I am not to interested in the sour dough making but the cooking with the vegetables from your garden. I have an organic garden. I am in zone 6b and right now we are freezing but I can't wait to start seeds in the house. I am not a farmer but I am a gardener.

I am watching your recap of 2024-2025 and I have to turn up the volume when you are talking because I can barely hear you and then when it is an ad, the volume is very loud. I don’t know if you guys can do something about that or not, but I just wanted to mention that. I just found your blog this last weekend and am really enjoying looking back at your later ones. I watched the birth of Ziggy and loved them.
