I’m so impressed with this proper overview of the bike… It’s the first time I see someone covering all these main points that I feel are important and that I haven’t found in any other video of this bike anywhere lol. Going through the bike and even removing parts until you get to the air filter is great to actually see how the bike is designed/made. Thanks for that!

Hi Pete, the 450 Himalayan finally arrived to the dealership near me in the U.S. I was very impressed with the fit and finish, and it had a sticker price lower than my Honda CRF 300l Rally! RE is absolutely killing it with their bikes.

Very comprehensive review. I'm the same height so that was good. LED headlight is bright enough but lacks depth. Being the sort of bike it is,it needs ground clearance but the loss of a centre stand on a chain drive bike is a draw back. I had to get one fitted to my CB500F - the lugs were there. A big lump of plastic from a building site got caught in the chain at 100kmh. Took 30 mins on the C/stand to get that lot out. I have a paddock stand but this is a heavy bike. Build quality of the bike is very good,as is the attention to detail. Prefer the honey yellow paint scheme.

Stressed member frame is not a stronger or better handling frame no matter what marketing claims.The interceptor full cradle double down tube 3 piece bolt together frame is an absolute peach capable of supporting sidecar ,trike ,off-road or higher h.p. and torque than it's 650 engine produces The stressed member Shotgun,classic,Super meteor frame is just not as strong ,versatile or well handling and isn't capable of giving as soft of a ride. The Interceptor might be cheaper but it's the better bike all around.The Bear is the best of them all and what the Interceptor should have always been.

We are going backwards with this type of no power old style ok for sum would you like an EFI tiger mouth

Some might say the opposite.

How much power do you need? I have a Scram 411 which has literally half the horsepower of the Bear 650 and it will go anywhere and do anything just fine. Also, remember that these types of naked bikes are not really meant for high speeds, because at some point, the wind would just push you off the bike. These bikes are NOT designed to break track records...they are designed to be simple, reliable and good looking.

There's plenty of other bikes for you mate, this is like the older UJM's, just perfect for a lot of us, going by the popularity of these bikes, and the fact that motorcycle dealerships are disappearing at a quick rate of knots, I think the motorcycle manufacturers have dropped the ball not making more simple bikes like this....
@daves6380Ай бұрын
@MickH60 You are 100% correct. I don't care for fancy electronics, ride modes or top speed. I want to enjoy a simple, reliable motorcycle and ride it the way it is meant to be ridden while enjoying the scenery, instead of going 150 mph while scraping a knee every time I take a corner...there is no need for that.

Hi, Thanks for your comment. The best thing about motorcycles is the Choice we have. There is something for everyone. Many love the simple things, others love all the high end tech. What ever puts a smile on your face. Kind regards FPPete.

No it's definitely not the best. They are built to a price. Let's see how long they last on the road.

Hi Thanks for watching the Vid, and thanks for your comment. I totally agree with you. Credit to Royal Enfield is that they are continually improving their brand, which is a good thing. We know the Interceptor has been a winner so I'm sure the BEAR will be as good. Good warranty and Road side assist should help if there are any issues. Kind Regards FPPete.

What brand new bike would you buy for the price?
@FULLPELTAdventuresАй бұрын
@@MTBrider26 Tough question. If I was after a Scrambler I would be very happy with the Bear 650. I like the look of the Triumph 400 as well. A lighter weight dirt bike may be the CRF300 or the upcoming DRZ4S. There is just so much choice out there. Regards FPPete.

@@FULLPELTAdventures sorry that question was directed to Smith-Smith. I would love to hear his/her wisdom on the topic and was awaiting to be inspired by the answer.

I’ve been interested in that question, as I’ve placed an order for a Bear. My first RE. I did lots of research and struggled to find anything significant with regards to reliability. Weirdly not many examples of people putting big kms on 650 power plant. I found one guy with 80,000+km no issues and another with 100,000+ no issues. Also noticed Himalayan’s racking up big km no issues, I.e Joe Ryan. For the money they look like a solid proposition.

Looks cheap. Like it won’t hold up over time.

Hi, Yes it is built to a price, so you can't expect Triumph like finish, However, Royal Enfield are slowly closing the gap. 3 year warranty. The Interceptor has had no issues so I can't see any problems with the Bear. Thanks for your comment Regards FPPete.

214 kg way to heavy and only 47hp from a 650 no thanks. There’s better and lighter bikes with more every thing now..

Hi Stephen, Thanks for your comment. We are very lucky in the motorcycle world to have so much choice, many will not buy a Royal Enfield, however many will. There is nothing better than chatting with mates and discussing what's the best Motorcycle for Road/Off Road/Adventure/Commuting etc. Kind Regards FPPete.

2/1 exhaust is a disaster. Should be 2/2. Collector box under engine will cause issues off road.
@FULLPELTAdventuresАй бұрын
Hi William, From a Scrambler design point I can see why they went with the 2/1 exhaust. If the bike is used off road I would add a Sump Guard available as an accessory. Thanks for your Comment. Kind Regards FPPete.

2/2 on a scrambler??

@@AK-db2ph Maybe a high 2/2 would work, like the Triumph's.
