This year’s SBT GRVL in Steamboat Springs kicked off with a two-day expo starting Friday. We arrived a few days early to hang with the Black Girls Do Bike NYC crew and support their bike shipments to Colorado.
After Friday’s expo a costume-mandatory hill climb challenge awarded winners their weight in beer. The final expo day followed on Saturday, then we headed out on course for the big day Sunday.
While SBT GRVL is known for “champagne gravel,” this year’s courses demanded wider tires and bigger efforts. Whether riding the 125, 100, 57 or 35 mile course, all offered spectacular views and the stoke was high from everyone.
It’s obvious why this Colorado ski town becomes a gravel cycling town as thousands of cyclists fill the town every August.
