its great to see the 'inside view' of the pros racing, not boring, most riders will never experience it so your videos are most interesting and entertaining.

I've never raced a race of any sort, but it's interesting how much cat and mouse was going on. I heard people in interviews comment on "no one wanted to work" and while I understood what they meant, this puts a visual with it for sure. Thanks for sharing the insider view of what so many talked about.

One thing Lifetime doesn’t do well is covering the games and tactics that go on in the lead group(s). These recaps are some of the best out there and are greatly appreciated. Keep em coming, can’t wait for more.

haha. Great video. I can't imagine riding that tightly down a chunky gravel road at 30mph. very impressive. It's great footage, I do like seeing this perspective on things, it's a bit less bling, but definitely gives a sense of what it's like to be there. Even the dust adds the right flavor. :D

waited a few months to watch this - my perspective was from way, way, way behind you - but seeing so much familiar terrain is getting me stoked for 2025 ... plus it was 10 F at my place this AM.

MTB tires are def the way to go for Unbound. Three of the top ten rode them. Granted Lachy just had his on the front tire. But still. You made a great point that you're able to access more of the course without trepidation. The coolest thing about Unbound is that it drives the most innovation and evolution in equipment and tactics. I think team dynamics will play a larger role in the coming years which I believe you alluded to in your commentary. Great content!

Thanks for the video and commentary. It feels like I'm there. I haven't thought about a race like this but it gets me thinking and questioning "What will it take to push myself to my very best?". I enjoy your podcast too. I listen to it on my way to/from work. I'm getting lost in the bike verbiage here. For example, what's "roll through" or "shut down an attack"? If there's a youtube vid or website (I've searched but not much luck) that goes over these strategies in detail, let me know. I just started getting into biking (bikepacking and mtn biking) but this gravel racing is really interesting. I just need to learn the termonology to make it that much more fun.

Wow… cool upload, that was interesting, I didn’t know it was this crazy. Extremely impressive result, the bar seems to get higher ever year. I still reckon that’s one of the best 20 I’ve seen. Pure Class, well done, I’d fight for 6th over 9th, what a privilege and first world problem. LOL.

Nice video Payson! And again, congrats for your awesome race! That said, here are my thoughts on the team tactics invasion: Yes, team tactics might win the race moving forward. BUT it does not mean will earn the respect of the gravel community. Seeing people stretching the back, looking at the birds when it came time to go to the front and pull does not sit well with most of us. And honestly the lost of the respect from the gravel community might lead to lost of intention to buy from these riders' sponsors. Just saying :)
