The only thing louder was Lando coming out of the first corner in the lead :) It´s also funny about Landos brush with the wall. As I said we had no screen so we actually didn´t know that happened. We only saw from our own timings that he suddently lost 4 seconds on one of his lap, where all the others where basically on autopilot witihin a tenth of each other. Magnussen lost it only bcs of track limits btw. And when three or how many driver did go for a fastest lap only to have been beaten by Lando with old hards (two races ago) on the last lap. No-one was crying about how others wanted to ''steal'' points from him. This time it just worked out the other way. And don't forget, that without RBR taking Danny back under their wings as a reserve driver first, they gave him/his career much more time in the paddock. What send-off do you want? To be fair, last year's Singapore GP was pretty good, but that was because the leader was going deliberately slower to hold onto their tyres as long as they could and the field spread was tiny (in fact that happened a fair amount in Singapore). This was much more a typical F1 race than last year's where that field spread was pretty big

One way to improve the fastest lap farce is to only allow laps from the top ten finishers to be considered. At the end of the race, see who among the top ten has the fastest lap and award the point. Possible solution to the fastest lap controversy would be, only lap times from the points scorers should be considered for the fastest lap point. I think the extra point would be genuinely earned. Risk vs reward. Going for fastest lap by pitting may cause you to lose positions / points.

In 2023, first race, Zhou got the fastest lap in the panultimate lap, grabbing the point from Max, nobody claimed then that the second Ferrari team (Alfa Romeo) did this to help Ferrari. And that the rules need to be changed.
@alexjballer4 ай бұрын
One way to try to mitigate the fastest lap issue is to put in the rules that if a driver outside of the top 10 sets the fastest lap that it doesn't count and the point still goes to the most recent driver to set the fastest lap within the points. For example, if george had it and Danny ric took it at the end, then george would still get the point because he had it most recently, and he finished within the points. Also the FIA could do more in this situation because red bull actually owns both teams. It would be less likely to happen if it was different ownership.
@ianchinsor92484 ай бұрын
I don’t feel bad for Danny at all, he has had plenty of chances now to prove himself. Leaving red bull was the worst career move in hindsight, yes he would have ended up second driver to Max but they were the best pairing red bull ever had. Perez has lost red bull the constructors this year.
