@eliskrutrok9070

Dont know if it was my comment you responded but i think that the lynx is the harder version of the ski doo since its a harder shock setup a more rigid rear suspension and no t motion (ik that the freeride this year got the Xt) which is something i really dident like about ski doo i think that the lynx is more predictable when you jump and just like sidehilling and i like that ds+ ski more since the deep keel gives good response when i ride in quite hard snow here is sweden and thats some of the reasons i dont ride ski doo but all that comes down to personal preferences and the ski doo is still a really good sled and its fun that we could chose what we like in the brp family

Why all 4 manufacturers couldn't get together and do a system like a Garmin and like GPS Trailmasters set up to save on cost is beyond me. Even the 7s gps sucks vs the Garmin for mapping
@ColinWatts

You could get a Trail Tech Voyager Pro. Polaris bought them for the Buddy Track tech they invented for their 7S gauge and their Voyager Pro will work with any Polaris with Buddy Track. This isn't as good as a common industry standard that you mention, but you can get 2 Voyager Pro's for the price of Doo's 10.25" gauge, so there's that at least.

Matt thank you for all of your ultra hard work you put into each and every single video you create.. I find myself watching from beginning to end. After watching the BRP new product info video and listening to the ladies talk about the deep snow stuff, I cant help but wonder how much better you could have done that whole video for BRP/Ski Doo. And another thing... these "Professional Riders" they have riding the new iron... if they were to watch your content, especially your tree riding and especially the "21 riders up the knarliest drainage" video, I think they would come to understand not only what an amazing rider you are but how well you showcase what the Ski Doo can actually do. I was just amazed by that video. You have so much natural ability and never bash another brand and always are there to help your buddies when they need help (and a Freerider sticker lol) but most of all you do it and keep it interesting and funny. You're not out to prove you are the best rider or your sled is the best. You're just out having fun and taking us all along with you! Do you have a direct email or contact we could send BRP our recommendations to, to maybe help you secure a sponsorship or a new sled to test each season? You're very deserving of it Brother! Just got my cool tan Freerider hoodie last week!! Thank you!! Its great!! Ride on my friend!!

Cat guy myself. Loving my 155 alpha. Can hardly wait for them to get the 870 out in the new platform. Was kinda thinking of going back to the conventional skid next time until u jumped on a brand new lynx last weekend and that put me back on board with the alpha. It's just so effortless compared to a conventional skid. There's a few downsides but for me I can ride around a bit of washout here and there and the crappy trail manners in order to get that effortless maneuverability. My daughter is just little and she's starting to carve it up on that alpha haha. Once you get through your head that you only need about 20% of the input needed for other sleds and quit over riding it, you start really opening doors. You can basically do 99% of your riding from a neutral position

At your Grandfather's cottage we had a race,who could have the first one assembled and out the door of basement running on the snow. Your Oldman won,but I was only couple minutes behind him. I think a 165 X for your dad sounds perfect. Would be interesting to compare the X and Expert on the hill. The Freeride 146 15 wide Turbo seems like an expensive specialty sled for the snow conditions out there. Sure seems like a 154 or 165 X or Expert would be a lot more versatile. I have no doubt the 146 will be entertaining at times though.

agree I pretty much just tell him what he should get haha would be interesting to see how much different the x vs expert is next year. it is for sure an expensive specialty sled but for this year up until February it would've been a competent sled, theres lots of times where we have low snow conditions where it would be perfect.

Im interested in what your dad goes with. Im pretty much the same age and coming off a 154 Backcountry. Most of my friends have gone to full mountain sleds for next year. Most of our riding has been in the Soo and Quebec and getting more and more away from trail riding. Next year thinking of a few long stretches out west. The decision would be 154 or 165 Summit. Any riding I’ve done out west has been on a 165. I should just by your dad’s sled from this year.

My only thing is the price vs how long it lasts. Most riders have to make payments , and when it goes down due to poor quality and doesn’t last even one full season. Defeats any purpose or reason to go new anymore. $25k plus tax is insane . Why not keep costs down and introduce more new riders to the sport and make more money in the end with overall sales volume . Just like new trucks. $100 k and doesn’t last more than 5-7 yrs. Exactly what the warranty is 👎💩. All companies want is massive profits. No pride in quality and workmanship and a product lasting . Too bad Honda didn’t get into the game eh . Motors would last a million miles and chassis would be rebuilt instead 😝👌. Keep the content comin bud. I’m stuck here in Ont in -37 🥶 wishin I was there 😢😩🇨🇦💪

Sponsorship / ambassador programs come with some severe rules. He likely wouldn't be allowed to touch anything but skidoo.. I have seen some bike ambassador programs that dictate what content you can show and what gear you can wear..

Do you have any pros and cons of the rigid XT motion and full rod track vs T motion and flex edge? Also, have you ever ran the Munster t motion lockout kit on your prior ski doos ?
@MuskokaFreerider
@MuskokaFreerider Жыл бұрын
Xt for aggressive riders and t motion for casual riders, easier to get on edge I wouldn’t recommend running the tmotion delete if you ride lots

How smooth is the turbo engine on the Gen 5 chassis? I have a 2017 AXYS 800RMK 163" and the only real critique would be the engine vibration coming through the bars/running boards at certain RPM. I'd be curious about your thoughts between the current gen Polaris/Skidoo for vibration.

very smooth, especially compared to my 9r.

Polaris reminds me of an American muscle car while the BRP's are more like a refined euro sports car.

Matt, I’m an intermediate BC Mountain rider +50 yrs old, currently on Summit X Expert 154 that was a new spring purchase for me in 2019. Time to upgrade and I’m leaning towards a 2024 Gen 5 Summit X Expert 154 black and orange. Touch screen does not seem worth it for $1,500 and I’m thinking NON turbo because all my group all ride Non Turbos and I don’t want to work that hard….make sense?

order ski doo freeride 146 for not extremely deep days, and extend summit experts track to 165 for deeper days. Then for polaris you should do the khaos

You should rent out a 20 wide expedition 900 turbo r or a 600r and take it out to the mountains I would love to watch that.

Can you do a video comparing the pros and cons of your 2023 9r and your 2023 doo? And how would you say your 2023 summit boost compares to your 2022 khaos boost?

@@MuskokaFreerider I think it’s interesting how the turbo r seems so much more powerful than the Polaris boost. Both manufacturers claim similar numbers and its even proven on the dynos. Even from videos you can tell how much harder the ski doo pulls.

@@lukem5141 It's not hard. Polaris set the bench mark last year and that gave Doo a number to beat, so they did. That's how competition works. If Polaris throws a turbo on the 9 then they'll be back on top again. It's just a cat and mouse game.

Freeride is sweet with the few updates but the mint is too light for me... my wife would probably love it tho. If going 146 turbo then shredder re would be my choice now that it's all black so it's a blank canvas to wrap. Until skidoo does a major update to the 10" screen its a gimmick. Sucks paying that premium price to see your rpm in color.

Yeah trying to cover the mint with a wrap would be difficult. Yeah that’s about all I use the gauge for atm lol
