Your stash is very pretty and it looks really nice on the shelf. The only think is that the sun might lighten up the yarn color so maybe consider moving the shelf to a wall that doesn’t get direct light. Raverly is where I get all my patterns and it is very helpful if you enter your stash and then you can search for patterns based on your stash.

Thank you! Hopefully, I'll be changing out the yarn on the shelf often enough so it won't be affected by the sun! I need to get better at using Ravelry!

I've never watched a stash organization video but it was pretty interesting actually 😁 mine is organized but I think a walkthrough would actually be fun 😊 for the pattern finding, I can just suggest the Ravelry advanced search. If you know what you want to knit, for example adult raglan shaped sweaters with braids, you can filter that pretty nicely there. This will give you a lot of designers patterns. And if you sort the results by popularity and not choose the first page,but rather a few pages in, you'll find a lot of smaller designers who still have amazing patterns available. Or sort by the rating. 😊

🧶heia! Very nice episode, and thank you for letting us see all your yarn, and all your plans with the colors and types of yarn! If you use boxes in the shelf there will be walls to hold the yarn in place ( turn the top of the boxes towards you and the yarn will smile at you😊🧶) use the boxes you already have, or buy a few more in grocery stores ( ikea, Nille, Rustad ) Good luck 👍 anyway!

Thanks for this tour of your stash. I also love the way sunlight shines on it. To prevent discolouration over time, though, perhaps use boxes you can store the yarn in on the shelf ? I like to get patterns from ravelry, where you can find quite a broad variety of designs/designers. Thanks again for a really great video.

I think you have so much yarn that it's enough for a new wardrobe not only for you but also for your son. Do you understand what I mean? It's a great video but it's also alarming. I think a yarn diet would do quite well. First, knit all the great projects you've listed and only when your stash is filled with leftovers and then would I think about buying new yarn. Ask yourself the following questions before your next yarn purchase. What exactly will come this? Do I already have a similar item in my closet, maybe? Do I relay need new piece ?
@norwegianknitter9 ай бұрын
It is absolutely a lot of yarn! And I'm going to knit as much as possible from stash this year! But I have less yarn in stash then I used in 2023, so seen in that context, I don't think it's quite as "bad." My son also needs a new warderobe every year because he grows, and so do my friends' babies, who I knit a lot for! I do try to only make myself things that fill different needs for me, but I can definitely get better at that!

I was amused by your electric blue/grey striped sweater that reminded me of my English school uniform when I was a child ;) It was really interesting to hear about all your knitting plans and your stash. You are better organised than I am, I think! I do keep similar yarns together, both by brand and weight, but I have no idea how much or how heavy it is. I think maybe I don't want to know lol. Have you thought of using book supports to partition your projects on your shelves? ;) Or could you hang the blue shelf and use transparent holders so you can still the yarn and it doesn't fall out? Or maybe your hand-dyed skeins could stand upright in that... Just a couple of thoughts! If a colour is too bright, you might find that by holding a mohair strand with it, it mutes it considerably, maybe a beige with the pink instead of another pink? I think is was Jana from Kettuknits who held green and purple together and it looked like lavender, it's amazing sometimes. I'm also looking forward to making myself a sweater with Daisy but first I have quite a long list of other projects to finish!! A knitter's life, I guess... until the next new and shiny thing takes my fancy hahahahaha..........
@norwegianknitter9 ай бұрын
Thank you! I haven't really thought about it yet, I'm waiting for my second shelf to get here before I decide! The blue shelf is actually going to be a book shelf for my son in his room. Mohair is amazing. It blends really well, even if it's different colors! I hope the pink I chose is light enough to make the pink Flora a bit lighter, but still be a pink sweater. I have the same problem with my drops Daisy, I really want to knit with it, but there is always something else at the front of the line😅 Happy knitting🥰
@Woeschhuesli9 ай бұрын
@@norwegianknitter I think the pink you are about to knit is perfect, it does mute it, as I used the same combo. I was thinking more about the really bright pinks you wondered about how to use... apparently peach is the new "in" colour, so maybe that!! Anyway, it will be fun to figure out!!
