2024 Street Glide First Ride and Review

Completely updated for 2024 the Harley Davidson Street Glide features new technology, performance and styling. In this episode I take the Street Glide through it's paces, discuss the new features and then give you my opinion based on my test ride, is it all that it's cracked up to be? Or will a 2023 or earlier Street Glide be a better investment?

2 into 2 exhaust? That would be new. All the touring bikes have always been 2 into 1 with a fake pipe on the left side.

6 bolts for the windshield. Perfect analogy of the (bicycle) handle bars they put on them. But don't worry they only charge $3000 to put new ones on.

The street glide handle bars debacle. My advice, because the Magnusson-Moss act protects consumers warranty from being voided for your upgrading/modifying of YOUR bike id seek out an independent tech to change your bars. In my area that will run you $375-500 for labor plus materials.

I like the Blue or Whiskey Fire with the Black Engine/Pipes. Of course all the colors are on point, well maybe not the Green, at least for me. I don't think it's a good idea for me to be looking at them though, I have a 23 Breakout so I don't need any ideas in my head🤣

I just got one of these... stock exhaust needs to go first and foremost. It rides smooth. Accelerates great. First stock seat I actually feel comfortable in. Great brakes. Very easy to ride. The new rear suspension is great. I am also in the midst of installing slightly taller bars (4" taller then stock). I'm 6'2" and the stock bars are just a little too low.

@henryfree7313 I can't recall the name. They are a Harley 1 1/2" bar. 12" tall. (Stock are 8"). They have a square style top similar to Z bar. I'll find out and add more info here for you and anyone else interested.

@@KennyQuestShow Stock seat is good but unfortunately Harley only offers one touring seat thats hard as a rock. 2023 seats are not interchangeable. Looking to find a comfortable seat for a long haul ride across country.

I've been watching all of your test ride videos, great honest feedback and real-world opinion. With that said, even for the money, when it comes to riding position, comfort, power, maneuverability, how would you really compare the Fat-Boy 114 to the Street Glides? Can you go on a longer ride without any back and tail bone (ass) pain on either bike? Can the Fat-Boy still provide comfort and good upright riding position compared to the Street Glide?

Since it’s a Softail the Fatboy can be modified to any level of ergos and comfort. Swap out to a thicker seat like what comes with the street glide or even cushier. The street glide fairing and the option for lower fairings for wind protection is the biggest difference. You can slice through the interstate highway air at 80-90 mph where I feel similar on a softail with a windscreen but at 70-75mph. Plus a king tour pack looks wierd on a softail. So if you’re touring often enough then get a touring model. But if it’s 1 to three times a year you’re crunching interstate miles on trips then it doesn’t make enough sense to own only a bagger, if you can afford both then go that way, if not I stick by my choice of the fatboy being the best all around softail.

Someone else ride this SG on some wet pavement for half an hour. NEVER in forty years of riding have I had an issue with water flying up onto my legs. My bike was covered in slop. Jeans soaking wet up to my knees and my left boot literally full of water. It was not raining out, just wet roads. Disastrous front fender. Can't figure out what else it could be.
