The Crosstrek is just the perfect small SUV that you can use for offroad situations. Don't need a huge SUV with those capabilities to do that, and Subaru's Symmetrical AWD and the ground clearance for this is perfect for offroading. There's a reason why I see so many of these with bikes on the top, and other gear on it.

while i agree, i dont think most soccer moms would. the crosstrek is an efficient but capable offroad that has decent amount of space. if they put the 2.5 or 2.4 turbo in, I feel like sales might drop a bit because a car like the crosstrek isnt supposed to be fast. it's supposed to be efficient

Actually a problem I had with leather wrap steering wheels is in my job I have to stop at multiple buildings and sometimes I forget to take the keys out of my hand and when you drive with a leather wrap steering wheel the keys will definitely scratch the leather but when you have that rubber it. Objectively the leather probably does feel better but when you don't have it you don't miss it or at least I don't and what I like about it is it's obviously going to be more durable long-term

Cx30 is a lot more cramped but if you’re willing to spend extra to get the turbo the cx30 might be worth it if you want a faster car. The 2.5L crosstrek is still pretty fun with the extra 30 horsepower and low center of gravity. Plus if you go to the snow or drive on dirt trails you can drive confidently knowing the crosstrek will take you virtually anywhere. So overall the cx30 turbo is a better driving experience with less utility and the crosstrek is generally good vehicle all around albeit slightly underpowered, so what you want depends on your needs!

I must be the only person who hates Subaru. I think they’re uncomfortable. The seats always throw my back out. All the NA 4 cylinders are dreadful to drive. Never liked their CVTs and the interiors feel flimsy.

I don’t get the attraction to them either. Guess the “Love” and dog marketing has really done its job. I had an Outback as a rental recently and it was shockingly slow. The exterior and interior designs are so chaotic looking, and that big screen is not user friendly at all.

We've had various Subarus over 20+ years and I agree. It's like wearing cheap hand me down hiking boots. Makes you feel smart in an awkward, weirdo kind of way. 😂
