My biggest wish is that the climate controls are returned to fully tactile, traditional buttons and knobs, and removed from that screen. I'm sure Subaru has heard the many complaints but I wonder if they'll do anything about it or if the screen controls will be on every model forever.

I agree. Anything climate/safety related should have a regular old fashion button or knob. I don't think having to stare at a screen and scroll through menus to find HVAC controls, drive modes, or turning safety features like traction control, etc. on and off should NEVER have been integrated into the tablet of any vehicle period. Talk about distracted driving, automakers have given everybody that option now with a tablet glued to the dash full of nonsense menus with every control you use daily on that screen forcing you to take your eyes of the road for several seconds to find what you need and change it, turn it on, off, etc. After a week or so in older vehicles you can adjust climate control settings, radio settings, etc. by feel/memory without needing to take your eyes off the road. I also would hate that stupid screen blinding me at night.

I don't get the hate on the screens? I feel like it is so much easier to operate. I love the screen in the new Subarus. The screens they put them in are so not cheap. It isn't an easier way out. They are following the trend on technology. All companies are moving towards this route and it is just the fashion right now. It may change, but it definitely isn't a safety issue. I never have issues change the temp while driving. You just click and go. It is the same as a button. How is you fooling with a knob/button any different from click the button on the screen??=

Wish automakers would just get back to the basics, build something that's gonna last 20+ years....and everything still works in it....anymore you better have an extended warranty for the extended warranty, and then trade the thing in before the warranty expires....so about the time you need new tires you better be just buying a new car as it'll be falling apart by the time you need tires anyways.

I recently traded the 2,5 litre Legacy for the 2024 Crosstrek withn a 2 litre engine. There is little difference in performance, except the 2.5 litre does the same job, about twice as efficiently and therefore preferable . My biggest complaint is with the cruise control. Went to test drive a Crosstrek with the intent to buy earlier this year but unfortunately discovered the shorter windscreen compared to the Forester and Outback meant the eyesight cameras took up too much of the front-centre visibility! Probably doesn't help that I'm 6'3", but I was really surprise that Subaru hadn't noticed this, or decided it was fine. I couldn't see anything approaching from merging lanes and intersections - not ideal. My first long trip in my 22 Outback Touring over the past several weeks was a learning experience. From western Kentucky to San Angelo, Texas. Loved the eyesight feature going down. Stuck in slow moving traffic, I left the cruise control on. The car moved up and slowed down with no problem in the sunshine. Coming home was a different experience. We ran into heavy rain on the second day coming back to Kentucky. Heavy rain and spray from semis caused the eyesight to shut off. It also turned off the cruise control. I took me a bit to figure out what caused the problem. Could you do a demo on this issue? I have also purchased a blue tooth dongle for my apple car play. Great accessory for $50.00.

Can you even get the WRX with a manual anymore? Also kind of sad the Legacy is going away. They should have offered the Legacy with a manual and the Wilderness package. Have you heard the Wilderness model being offered on the 2025 and newer Forester models? The Forester Wilderness in blue or white is what I'm after here in the next year or 2. I'm single, don't have kids, and the Forester is a great size I think for everything I'd need it for....mostly to and from work, occasional camping trips on gravel roads, and the occasional trip to COSTCO and Home Depot. Currently I have a 2003 Jeep Liberty, which does everything I need....I had an 87 Ford Ranger 4x2 that I used to take camping and it made it in and out of the camping spots I'd go to without issue, so I'd think a Subaru would do just fine with the AWD....I think the Wilderness option with the slight ground clearance increase would be a good idea as there's a couple spots I camp in where clearance could be an issue at times due to snow/ice just getting into and out of the camping spot, like I said the Ranger made it so the Subaru I'd think would have no problem. The stance of the Wilderness model Forester makes it look a little more aggressive to me.

What is the price increase from 24? It could be significant if they consider the motor. Maybe I missed it, but I didn't think the 25 base model comes with a 2.5. if it does then it would follow that the price increase even on the premium would be similar since they both had a 2.0 motor previously. The price increase on the other trims may be less since they already had the 2.5 motor

I wish there was any option other than CVT, and the dark wheel arch trim gets more bizarre with every new edition. If there has to be trim there, simple arches look much better than the ridiculous abstract shapes they are now.

Well, I hope the biggest improvement is engines with proper engine sealant, that doesn't leak and they will not address for their customers. Not all but many have this problem. It turned my 6 year old Crosstrek into a rolling salvage brick due to the extreme cost to repair. Remove engine, take apart and reseal. Stick to Toyota, although not perfect but holy cow, not like mess. And never, ever buy a used one. This is my experience with owning both makes.

No reason why Subaru cannot put the BRZ engine in this and call it an RS model. 182 hp is just not enough for a full-time AWD car wtih big knobby tires. Or put a 25 hp mild hyrbid on it like the RAV4, and make a 40 mpg monster.

It is about the same overall dimensions as my 2001 Forester L (2.5L). It would be as useful for hauling cargo as the old car, IF ONLY it had 2" taller loading height in the rear hatch (i.e., 31" opening instead of 29.3"). The old one would haul home a washing machine from Lowe's IN THE BOX! Like the new 2.5L engine, would pay for a turbo. While you're at it, bring back a GEARED AUTOMATIC, not CVT.

Get the forester. It is do much more practical.
@wildbill23c2 ай бұрын
Impreza is a compact sedan, the Forester is a compact hatchback crossover. Honestly depends on your plans...if all you do is drive to and from work, and don't really do any outdoor activities, the Impreza would be fine....if you are into the outdoors, hunting, camping, fishing, hiking, etc....a Forester or Outback would be better due to the larger cargo area for larger/bulky items like tents, sleeping bags, and other camping gear.

Hi Alex, Can you tel me more about the options available for foldable side mirrors on the crosstrek
@alexpmoАй бұрын
The Crosstrek mirrors can manually fold in but they don't have a power folding option like we see on some of the Touring trim Outbacks and Ascents.

Which vehicle has a towing package and how much will it tow?
@alexpmo2 ай бұрын
The Crosstrek can tow up to 1500 lbs unless you go with the wilderness. The wilderness can tow up to 3500 lbs because of the 2.5 engine and the transmission cooler. It’s important to note none of the Subarus have the trailer hitch standard, but you can get it put on as an option
@Wrang152 ай бұрын
Bigger issue is if your trailer is over 1,000 lbs it needs brakes per Subaru. But they only install a 4 pin wire with the hitch. So unless your traler has surge brakes, you have to add a 7 pin and brake controller on your own or 3rd party shop. Total pain it was on my boat trailer since the gvw was under 3500 it did not come with brakes.

I have a 2024 Subaru Crosstrek Sport my next subaru when my lease is up I am interested in a forester premium. I noticed the model does no have the turn signal built into the side mirrors what is funny that the premium crosstrek has them will Subaru add them on the future models of the forester premium

manual transmission would be nice for sure....but not sure there's any need for a 6 speed with the dismal power these cars have....may as well have a 5 speed, might get to use all 5 gears....with the 6 speed you might get to use 6th gear downhill. Yeah, of course if they gear it properly a 6 speed would be great....can't understand why automakers have done away with the manual transmissions, sure they aren't the #1 seller but they shoot themselves in the foot because they probably lose some sells every year because people went to a different brand that did offer a manual. I don't mind the manual at all. All that add-on plastic crap is ridiculous for any vehicle, just something else that'll fall or break off at some point, or will fade, crack, peel, etc. due to being a different type of plastic with piss poor paint adherence.
@ethanbattermann71232 ай бұрын
@wildbill23c actually the base and premium trim crosstreks were available as a 6 speed manual up until this latest generation. And yes, they might lose some sales because they don't have the manual anymore but they decided it was costing them more to offer the manual option than they were making from selling the manuals. It sucks, being a manual enthusiast myself, but that's the sad truth of it.

As to when the Crosstrek Hybrid will be available in the U.S., I read, last month, that Japanese officials said it would be "in late in 2024," with the Forester Hybrid to be available, "...in the coming years." So it would seem the Crosstrek Hybrid will arrive first (if the translation was accurate), though I'd think the heavier Forester would be even more in need of additional power and fuel economy.

I heard it was the other way around but not certain. Only speaking on what Subaru has shared with me.
