Excellent review! The crossbars have a quick release latch on the other end of the bar that just lifts up. There is nothing to unscrew to move the crossbars in place. I think you may have been on the pivot end of the bar. Continue to be amazing with your channel…LOVE IT a lot 😊

One thing I liked about the 2023/2024 outback, is the heated steering wheel is 360° of heat. I test drove a 2022, and the top of the steering wheel is not heated.

leather wheel - in Canada my one off base Elantra - we lose the dual heater controls and features - manual heating and cooling - BUT the added the heated leather steering wheel and shifter and it was VERY nice compared to what I was expecting. Tricks me into thinking it is a much more premium level.

Bought one ( in Australia ) yesterday, but we miss out on the cooled seats, puzzling as it gets pretty bloody HOT down here! Thorough review, and glad you don’t inject too much personal bias into the video. Thanks for such a top effort.

Excellent presentation video (just Subscribed), and I totally agreed with you that Subaru SHOULD have 360 degrees camera feature to the Outback Touring. It's so convenience for parking especially women. That's is the only option I missed on Outback Touring. The new 2025 Forester Touring will have 360 degrees camera... but then it will missing Power folding side mirrors and the XT feature. Thank you.

Nice review. I think I would get the Outback Onyx XT. It has a full size spare and no driver distraction system. I am sure the next Outback for 2026 will have a 360 degree camera as the Forester will have it for 2025.

I am about to buy my second outback - I had a 2016 Limited with 6 cyl which I got 160k miles on before the CVT started to go. I am probably about to buy the Touring XT now but might wait for the 2025s to become available (although nothing much is changing.) This was a very good everyday car to live with - but only with the upgraded engine. The traction in snow is unlike anything else I have experienced and I own a 4WD Tacoma and Sequoia as well.

@TractorDog, I have a 2019 Outback Limited. The 4 cylinder is more than adequate power. I remember before I bought it I was reading the reviews on it. Many said they loved it and many said the 4 cylinder had no pep. You need the 6. Well, many of those race car drivers had no idea what they were talking about. My sister took my car one day and she said is that car peppy. I am going to get the 2024 Outback but will test drive it first to see if I notice any difference in the drive of the XT. If I don't notice any change, I will go with the Limited again. I am not a fast driver by any means. The young man driving this XT did say the Stereo system is much better with the XT model. The stereo on my Limited is nothing to write home about. Nice job 703Speed.

I bought the 2024 Outback Touring XT recently and there is an update for 2024, to the touchscreen. In your video, the touchscreen does not show the auto hold selection on the main bottom of the screen. On my Outback, the auto hold selection is next to the auto stop. Subaru has been updating the Touchscreen layout, scroll speed and other details. Otherwise, love the car and power. It’s more comfortable and quieter than my 2017 Forester Touring. I have the Java brown, get a lot comments on its look vs black.

Testing the engine sounds you must shut up at least 1 minute in order to listen clearly the cabin noises. Remember, ok!!

Subaru's claimed gas mileage is not correct. My 2024 Onix XT only averages 17-19 miles per gallon in the city and around 26 on the highway.In other aspects it is a very good vehicle but it does not seem to be due to the very friendly turbo engine in terms of miles per gallon.

As a current Subaru CVT owner that has owned nearly every type of automotive transmission built, It is my opinion that the TR690 is the best I have ever owned hands down.

Our 22 Legacy Limited XT cvt works fine. None of the rubberbanding effect we noticed when we tried a 16 Legacy but passed on buying it. My sister's 18 Forester and 20 Crosstrek are in between, not bad/not great.

I test drove a certified 7.7k mile 2023 Subaru Outback Touring XT and was extremely disappointed with the brakes. Spongy, no grab, and at a stop the pedal went all the way to the floor. Our 22 Legacy Limited XT has pretty good brakes and felt quicker, too.

If it went to the floor, then something is seriously wrong with the brakes. Take it back to the dealer to have them look at it

@@ddphotoadventure2657 I didn't buy it, I only took it for a test drive. I told the salesman something's not right and it should be checked out by service, as it's potentially dangerous. He emailed me two days later to say that he and his manager drove it and "it was fine." LOL I told him that brakes that already feel spongy and also drop to the floor at a stop are definitely not fine! He never replied. I moved on.

The turbo might make a big difference but a) it reduces the gas mileage from fair to abysmal; and b) who on earth has $45k for a car ? I love Outbacks (I had a ‘97 for 10 years) but they are way over-priced.

Very uncomfortable hard and cramped seats. Painful on long drives. I am using added cushions for comfort. Annoying seat memory position. Keeps going from set positin to default position repeatedly. Loud droning engine not smooth at all . Lots of engine vibration and coarse sounding engine

Of course it makes a difference.... unfortunatley a turbo on a BOXER engine-- is a PROBLEM waiting to happen... People will run it hard and then turn it off immeidately when they stop-- instead of allowing it to "cool down" and the damn thing will crack open and leak with all sorts of problems.. and MORE--
