2024 Toyota Corolla Cross Overview | Toyota

I've been driving a Corolla Cross AWD in Hungary since March 2023 and have covered over 12,000 miles. Its fuel efficiency is excellent at 43.5 mpg and it's a pleasure to drive. However, there are a few drawbacks. The 196 HP doesn't feel as powerful as expected, and the European model has a low-hanging muffler which isn't visually appealing (though the US model doesn't have this issue). The rear passenger space could be roomier and the engine is quite noisy. The AWD version also has less storage space. In Europe, my model cost over $40,000, surprisingly much higher than in the USA. Despite these issues, I'm happy with my first hybrid Toyota.

toyota has been limiting electronically the throttle of all its cars per ecological reasons for years, not to mention that cvts are certainly not that good transmissions for power

"Drive with confidence" sounds good. Yeah, it's a nice car, but where are the towing eyelets? And for towing it requires a towing truck, always. Not just any towing truck. Owner's Manual suggests that wheel lifts are required. Something to be discovered when one needs it least...😁

I just got a 2024 LE AWD about a week ago. I love the thing. Nice ride quality and good on gas. I was a Ford guy all my life but the ride quality of Toyota's won me over and will probably last twice as long.

I have tried to get a problem fixed in my Toyota Cross Hybrid. The front camera does not read the traffic signs. I have visited four times the Toyota repair here in Torrevieja Spain but nothing has been done. I expect they are waiting for the guaranty time to run out. I am just wondering if this is the right thing to do if you want to sell Toyota cars?

I have a 2012 Yaris and it is cheap to insure, cheap and easy to service and cheap to run. It is in essence boring and I love it! It is exactly what I’m after. If Carolla cross does this I’m in!!

I'm curious... the few Corolla Cross I have seen at night had barely any of the tail lamps lit up. Just a little red light in each corner. Very dark and dangerous at night I think. Shouldn't all of the tail-lamps light up? and not just a tiny part? Almost looks like the lights weren't set up right at the factory. Is this normal... penny pinching by Toyota? It doesn't look safe at night.

OKAY, Toyota, I'm sold! My current lease is up late 2024 and the Corolla Cross Hybrid XSE is my 1st choice! Now, if only there isn't too long a delay in getting one from the Alabama factory in time to pickup before my lease ends -- some folks are saying 8-12 months delay!? That being said, I will visit my local dealer soon. My only complaint so far? How can you design a hybrid that has the rear motor wiring in a position PREVENTING a spare tire from being added??? That just doesn't sound like Toyota Engineering. But not enough detraction from me not buying it. Unless your dealers jerk us around with nonsensical markups.

i have a CC with 2.0 gas engine non hybrid. I use extreme driving style (hyper milling and cruise around 80 km/h) to extract the best mileage. So far my best try was 4.167L/100km, which is about 56 MPG. My overall MPG after 8000km of driving is 46.94.( 5.0L/100km) So the M20A FKS coupled with CVT is extremely efficient.

Hi Toyota, How about stretching the Corolla Cross wheelbase a couple of inches to give adult passengers in the back seat a place to put their legs? We find it odd the shorter Corolla hatch wheelbase was chosen for the Alabama built Cross when the sedans from Mississippi have a longer wheelbase. The new Prius is also built on the TNGA-C platform and it has the longest wheelbase and most generous legroom of any Corolla variant.🤔Just for fun, take a peak at the 'miracle' Honda achieved with the back seat in the HR-V. Rather than Toyota's one size fits all 'global' design, Honda actually caters their designs to specific markets. In other words, countries with big-boned, plus-sized people get bigger cars. 🥳 You might also want to revisit the sloppy routing of the high-voltage cable for the rear electric motor. The missing spare tire is becoming an annoyingly repetitive theme with many of your newest Hybrids. All in all, we know you can do a much better job of building a vehicle around this excellent Hybrid powertrain. 🤨

Just purchased a 2024 Corolla Cross hybrid HSE, to a bitter realization the front passenger seat cannot have its height adjusted. The passenger seat is very low. Trax is gross. Chevrolet's turbocharged engines have a horrible reliability record. My son has a Chevy Cruze with a turbocharged engine Ecotec as it is known. Been stranded with cracked plastic cooling system parts that left him with an overheated engine on two different occasions. And one other time with a blown head gasket. 94,000 last time I looked.

I would love to buy one but I have a Highlander with the auto start stop tech and it is TERRIBLE in summer the engine stops for like half a second and BAM back on so you have to push some stupid button EVERY time you get in the car to turn that USELESS feature off! Toyota, STOP! It doesn’t serve any real purpose but annoy drivers. Or make it so it remembers whatever your last setting was!

The Corolla Cross AWD XLE I've got does not have towing eyelets 🤭. There are just decorative plastic covers over frame on front and rear bumper. Nowhere to hook a towing strap ))). So if I get in the mud or snow, there is no way to tow the car out using a towing strap. One has to call a tow truck with "wheel lifts", then someone would need to dig mud or snow to place those wheel lifts under tires and get the car out. What a silly "optimization"! Then, if there are no eyelets, why bother placing plastic covers pretending there is something under? Yes, the car is not SUV or off-road vehicle; but that's exactly a reason why it should have towing eyelets. 😜 Disappointed. 🤥

Got to drive a cross recently as a rental. Have to say I wasn't impressed at all. Admittedly, I haven't driven anything else in that class to compare to. 3 drawbacks that would prevent me from even renting one again: the CVT transmission drones terribly. Cheap feeling interior. And the passenger seat had no height adjustment! What manufacturer does that??? My 4'11" wife looked and felt like she was sitting in a hole. Seriously, she could barely see over the dash. Definitely not a vehicle we'll ever consider.
