We just got ours this weekend. Land Cruiser trim with premium package. Black with java interior. This is the wifey's car so she chose the spec and color combo. Lots of dealers in Texas are charging markup, but if you look around you can find them for MSRP. Ours was 71k. We drove 200 miles to get "the one" so I got an immediate road trip experience with it. The powertrain is smooth and torquey. I wasn't sure I would like it, but I think it's actually a high point of the vehicle. Ride quality is nice. I felt the handling was better than expected. Haven't noticed any wind noise. Maybe that's the First Edition roof rack? Interior quality is way better than the American and Mexican built Toyotas. I've driven quite a few new Tundras and Sequoias and did not like them. The shifter, glove box, console lid, and doors feel solid and don't have play in them like the aforementioned vehicles. I also like all the real buttons, and no piano black trim. The ADAS functions work well, but are sometimes a bit intrusive. I'll need to adjust those settings. Now for my criticisms. Our's has the cool box which is neat, but console space isn't great. There's no overhead sunglass holder either. I wish the sun visors telescoped back rather than having a little chintzy pull-out panel that wobbles and doesn't block much. The instrument cluster menus and infotainment aren't very intuitive. We mostly use Carplay anyways so it's not a huge deal, but a tune knob would help. It would also be nice if there was a quick button to switch from the Toyota software to Carplay and back. For comparison reference my vehicle is a 22 Ram Rebel. Overall I really like it. I'm looking forward to getting it offroad, and her learning what all the fun buttons do.

Coming up on almost a month on our mid-trim LC with premium package. The dealer experience was clean, no mark up or gouging. They exactly got the combination we requested, the heritage blue with the brown interior. Besides the expected gas mileage shock (traded in a 35mpg RX hybrid), it has every feature from the Lexus (matches the GX besides the engine and 3rd row). I did consider the GX, but even lower gas mileage, lack of real buttons, tiny 3rd row with no space behind, and 12 month waiting period pushed me over to the LC. Our kids really like the LC, and the 2-tone color stands out in a parking lot very easily (which can be avoided choosing a single tone like black, beige or grey exterior). In mostly city driving so far about 1000 miles, the size is very helpful for daily driving and parking. We are looking forward to some road and trail camping trips this fall. The interior quality is typical Toyota and functional, should not be be an issue for 5-6 years of our typical ownership. Our 3yr old is still in her car seat, but we had no issues installing our typical car seat or getting her in/out. So far, nice experience of owning our first truck-based SUV...but time will tell.

I owned a 2000 Nissan frontier, almost 300000 miles and never had the plastic issues these new Toyotas are experiencing. Looks fantastic, with plenty of off-road tools. Pity about the ground clearance, very pitch sensitive for a measly 8 inches of clearance. Great review.

This2024 LC is clearly inspired by the FJ60 Series of LC. That's why there is 2 different types of headlamps. The FJ60 was a manual transmission with round headlamps, the FJ62 was a automatic transmission with rectangular headlamps. So the 2024 "Land Cruiser " trim with the square headlamps is still retro.

Nissan Cube is not a truck based body-on-frame offroad capable 4x4. It is a unibody car. People like truck based 4x4s to have the proper boxy truck look, as this LC does. People do not want truck based off road 4x4s to have angular body designs, like cars and crossovers, which is what the Cube is. The Cube is an MPV which is a class of car. Nobody want a car to be a boxy, like a truck, and a truck to be sharp and angular, like a car lol

@@canto_v12 the 200 was nearly $65k when it debuted in 2008 and it was nearly $80k when I purchased mine new in 2014. In 2007, my 4Runner new was $32k. The Prado was the basis for the 4Runner, GX, and FJ Cruiser and is now the basis for the 4Runner, GX, and “Landcruiser.” The Prado is still not the same thing as a 70 or 300 series, which are proven worldwide, but not sold in the USA because Toyota could never sort out how to market its products with a “T” or an “L” on the grille. Basically you can choose between different flavors of 4Runner while Toyota sells its flagship vehicle elsewhere and tries to convince us that buying the rebadged Prado or an accessorized Sequoia is the same thing when it’s not. Annoying to me that Toyota is insisting on hybridizing their full size/performance models at the expense of usability. We have three kids so need either a third row or a really sizable second row bench. The Sequoia’s third row and rear cargo “solution” make it a non-starter to me. The Land Cruiser *almost* is enough but has an annoyingly small second row for the size of the vehicle. Would it have killed them to just move the seat back 6” for models that don’t have a third row?

I am not that impressed by it honestly. For 60-70k you get a drivers side door armrest that is barely padded? Are you kidding me? The whole package leaves me wanting, why in any world would you buy this over a 4Runner? They're basically made from the same parts, broken seat levers and all. Except the 4Runner is priced more appropriately. I think the Land Cruiser is pretending to be something it isn't, an up-market offroad SUV that it really isn't.
