2024 toyota rav 4 prime charge mode

Charge mode would be best used ending a long road trip. Last 40 miles or so put in charge mode, can charge up to 80%. Now at your destination you can drive completely EV in the less efficient stop and go traffic.

So it charges the battery using the engine and gas? What's the benefit? I'm a little lost

Wonder if you can help, I have a RAV4 prime 24, when I go into the VEhicle settings and into charging setting, i don't see the option to turn off charger port lock. Any clue ?

I don't understand why plug-in hybrids don't have a fully automated mode, like regular hybrids, which can decide when to use battery power and when to charge it. If I can't or don't want to charge it regularly, I'd prefer to turn on 'Auto' and forget about it.
