Totally. I have my grandma’s walnut bedroom suite from the 1930s. Highboy, vanity, sleigh bed, dresser, etc. I have massive original oil paintings from the 60s and 70s by an artist I knew in the past. Despite the eras, they mix beautifully. Like an outfit, it’s not the ingredients, it’s how you wear it. 😅

I've been obsessed with neutral tones of black, white, tan and beige interiors since the early 90s when my husband and I built our first home. I know people thought I was crazy for having black walls in the powder room but that was what I liked. Four houses later and I am still obsessed with those same neutral tones in my home. I will never tire of them.

It’s not something that you would do in your house, but jewel tones are trending, too. And it’s something I am incorporating in my home. I’m dedicating a whole room to Tanzanite and Black Sapphire and black. With bright colors like mustard and purple accessories and in over sized art. It’s a small room so it’s going to have an impact.

There’s two trees. One is real, the other as fake. I believe the real one is a lime tree. You need something to stop water damage underneath it. She has that somewhere in her shop.

I’m never going to do black and white because it’s just not me. I love earth tones. But, I’ve already hired a painter to paint two of the rooms in my house white. I’m also switching my curtains in my living room to white linen. I never thought I’d do that but suddenly I’m feeling a clean white look. I also switched my side tables in my living room to dark wood.

My grandmother decorated with curved furniture during the 60's and 70's. Gorgeous artwork with neutral walls/flooring combined with muted colors and meaningful artifacts from her travels. I loved staying in her home. I felt comfortable and elegant because she was warm, elegant, and creative. Valentina, you possess all these traits and emanate the same feelings!

I have curved furniture from the 1880s and 99s… Also art from that period. Color drenching IS a monochromatic (one color) look. B&W is in- yay. I’m doing a KITCHEN in b&w plus 3 colors. It’ll be easier to find what I want. Don’t you think it’s nice to once in a while be “ in style” while also doing something unique? The dark wood floors, people will regret, fairly quickly, as they show every speck of dust and lint, and then my beautiful mid tone brown floors from 1900 will be in again :) ❤ Thank you Valentina for this video. Bet your art is fantastic. I’ve been Photoshopping family photos of a Europe trip from the 80s, taking out any tech, people and cars and make them black and white taking out a lot of the mid tones to make them look timeless. It’s been a lot of fun. Enjoy your kitchen!

Took my mom shopping for a new sofa about a year ago and fell in love with a curved sofa and pushed her to buy it. It looks great in the space and now I want one too (I may have to jump up and down on ours to break them) and we have a circular coffee table. I find curved furniture easier on the eyes compared to harsh straight edges@@HouseofValentina

Love everything about these 'trending' styles! I have Midnight Oil on all interior doors and my kitchen island. It truly elevates the space. I too adore Noir and was fortunate to pick up their statement Maharadshcha armoire at a model home furniture store. Thank god black is coming back! Here in Australia it’s been nothing but white, beige and light woods for the last few years, particularly at more affordable retailers like Adairs, Target, Kmart etc. I’ll be happy to see black creeping back into stores again. It’s a classic for a reason!

I have my eye on two curved single chairs from my local store with that burlap fabric (I think it’s called) with timber legs and Love them, I just might have to go purchase them for my own space, seeing they’re going to be timeless and that’s what I’m looking for, I’ve gone through so many couches over the years and all have been expensive ones at that and even though I have one similar to what I really want, it’s still not exactly The One, couches are so hard to make a decision on when they are an investment piece of furniture.. I had a little fur baby that I was hoping she’d destroy the couch for me to justify a new one but I no longer have my little fur baby 😢😢😢and can’t think of anything else to destroy the couch Lol 😂. I’m loving the dark wood! I live in Paraguay and my home is full of Brazilian mahogany. My floors, beams and ceilings are Spanish colonial made with the local Brazilian mahogany. Love it❤

I am so happy with the dark wood, six months ago I bought new nightstands and dresser in black wood with ceramic top. At first I was quite hesitant but I fell in love with them and I just couldn’t resist. It is very comforting knowing that I will have them for years since they were quite expensive 😊

i cant really paint and have the budget to buy custom oversized art buttt i do love taking personal family photos in black and white. it gives me the idea to develop the photo in oversized or multiple pics in black frames

I’ve been doing this for a few years now and it’s so rewarding. I’ve mainly done family photos of Europe in the 80s, 2009 and 2019. I took out tech, people and cars and lowered the mid tones. The more ordinary the photo, the better. I’ve got some custom frames but most are cheap black ones with a custom mat. They look so cool in black and white and timeless. My next photo to print is one of Versailles when it was closed the day we went. There were only 13 people in the photo my Dad took so it was easy to take us out. It looks so old. I took me out last but saved one with me being the only person in the shot. Because a lot of the 80s photos aren’t great, cropping them was necessary and actually made them look better and more unique. Doing some with a water colour filter also gives your art collection variety.

I think trending wood tones should be put to pasture. Having one wood in your house is boring and flat. I believe in different wood tones within one room.

Walnut is my favorite and I find that, due to its natural color variation in the whorls and streaks it works with many other wood pieces. That being said, I have not found other wood that is stained walnut, like maple, is as easy to incorporate.

Need help with flooring.. I have engineered flooring which is gone bad and all has to repeat replaced. It’s less than eight months since we purchased it. Now I have to try and find something else not sure what direction to go into. They do not recommend wood for our climate in Alberta and tile needs under floor heating can you give me a recommendation flooring.

I’ve just done this. I photoshop my family photos of mainly Europe trips and bought mainly cheap black frames but added a custom mat. Most are black and white and I’ve made them look old and timeless. My biggest piece is 1.1m x 1.4m. I got it printed for $100 but the custom frame was expensive at $1000 AUD. Worth it and I can cheaply change out the art if I want. Colours are exceptional. By keeping a list of mat sizes you have, it’s easy to set up your photos in PS to those sizes so you can work on them without having to crop them later.

I’ve been reading up on Feng Shui lately and it’s very interesting. The rounded pieces are very much influenced from Feng Shui, which believes that sharp corners are “poison arrows”.

I have had my wieman snake curved sectional since 1990. I still love 💕 it. In white Ultra suede and it Looks like the day it was delivered. For me style never left.
