Ooh you had to do that before the test. Most please save that for just before they buy a bike. In my case the wife had a Ninja 650 sitting there as motivation to pass her test :)

I appreciate you trying to clarify all this but a couple of things: 1. When talking about the 21-23 age options you said "up to 50kw" that's wrong, it's minimum 50kw. 2. DAS or direct access has nothing to do with passing mod 1 and 2 within days of each other, it's about having direct access to a large category A motorcycle without having to do an A1 or A2 licence. Small points I know but hey, worth getting it right.
@pinnacle_moto2 ай бұрын
Yes, I know but it says it on the screen clear as day as well. Also what do you mean DAS has nothing to do with Mod 1 and Mod2. DAS is CBT, theory, Mod1 & Mod2. You can read up on it more here begin-motorcycling.co.uk/direct-access-bike-test/#:~:text=This%20is%20the%20full%20bike%20test#:~:text=This%20is%20the%20full%20bike%20test

Up and down the country train station car parks are full of cars. Give full driving licence holders access to a maximum 125cc twist & go bikes rather than 50cc. Many car drivers would get into the bike market.
@ChloeV-c3d8 ай бұрын
Yeah, it was a standardised thing brought in across the EU if I recall, a way to simplify it for newer riders as they likely won't have passed their car license prior to 2001 would be 50cc's at 16, 125cc's at 17 and under 24 anything up to 47bhp no CC restriction (I believe the original bike has to be below 100 to start, so no 'restricted hayabusas') above 24 and the worlds your oyster!

Yes, I got my full license back in 1996. Back then it was an initial training followed by something called a Road Rider which was the exam. There was no additional theory test if you already had a car license. The wife however had to go through all of this new criteria as she only started riding in 2022.

@@pinnacle_moto I passed mine at 17 in '11 waited for a bit did a cbt until 24 then DAS a ZX6RR (2008 the 599 not the cheater ;) ) onto an RC8R now as of january this year a Panigale V4 (base model 2019).... I'd have been 3 at the time you passed, glad to hear the wife got into riding, I keep trying to talk the husband into getting a little 125 just to have fun on. I'm sad I never got to enjoy the 2stroke years though as they'd pretty much been faded out properly by the time I was 16.... I mean I still drooled over the Aprilia RS50 at the time

I’ve had a A1 license for over 10 years, I now want to upgrade to the full A license without doing A2, DVLA have told me I would have to complete a theroy test again before doing mod 1 and 2 is this correct?
@pinnacle_moto4 ай бұрын
If you need a theory test pass certificate for additional A1 / A2 (Mod1, Mod2) tests the theory needs to have been obtained within the last 2 years.
@mrmoon1482Ай бұрын
@@pinnacle_motoI upgraded from A1 to A2 without doing the theory just mod 1&2 If I wanted to skip A2 to full A I would have needed to complete another theory test, I knew which bikes I wanted and luckily the A2 covered them I now own a Honda forza 300 and Royal Enfield interceptor 650, I’m happy 🙂

Once you have passed your motocycle theory test does it expire like your cbt. can you use that same theory test when you did your A1 and use that same theory test to pass your A2 license?
@pinnacle_moto4 ай бұрын
When you have passed you get 2 years to pass the practical test. No need to retake the theory if it's within 2 years for any other stage.

Thanks for the video I am 45 years old got car license 2007 Did my CBT 2024 I m riding 125cc What’s my quickest way to full motorbike license?
@pinnacle_moto4 ай бұрын
If you already have a CBT you need to now do the theory test so you can book this online. Once you passed that you can put in for you MOD1 and MOD2. These are two separate tests that you need to do (both practical) Once you pass your Mod 1 and 2 you can ride any bike you want. I passed my test back in the 90's when I was in the early 20's but my wife recently got her full license in 2022. She did CBT, theory and DAS (combined mod 1 and mod 2). Failed the theory once and failed mod 1 once but then passed both and mod 2 first time.

Hence the decline in younger riders taking motorcycle test as it cost them a fortune these days.

if you pass on a moped then get 125 i know you need l plates but do you still need cbt every 2 years eg can i pass moped test then ride 125 on l plates without ever needing cbt again ? ?

Though it is quite annoying i wish the cc floor was something like 250, 125 is way too underpowered, in india its probably fine but not here
@pinnacle_moto8 ай бұрын
I would personally like to see the theory test as compulsory as a prerequisite to the CBT. We see so many L plate's on delivery drivers here in the UK and so many of them do not even know that they are not supposed to be in the Cycle box in front of the traffic light stop sign. Or Maybe they know they just don't care :)
@ThePresidentofMars8 ай бұрын
@pinnacle_moto they definitely dont care. Though as a motorcyclist i would feel tempted to use them if any existed in my area. The theory is largely forgotten after you pass and anything you do remember would be stuff youd pick up on anyway.

@@ThePresidentofMars I may put together a video to just remind us all of the "Should" and the "Must" of the highway code. Not to say people should be doing exactly that, more of an informational video to just refresh peoples memory :)
