Thanks. My iPad mini usually stays right where it should. Lesson learned about not trusting it. Lol😊

The concept of "situational awareness" during takeoff has been updated 😂 Great ipad air catch and flight tips, cheers! 👏

Thanks! 👍 We all learned that is not a good place to leave the iPad (and that I could have possibly been a short stop in another life - lol)

Pilot tip #1…. Don’t leave an iPad mini where is will slide off the dash 🙈. Historically, it has stayed in place. Thanks for watching PPP!

Very informative and enjoyable video! One question: Is the stick FBW, force sensing or direct linkage? If FBW, does it have force feedback? The reason I‘m asking: I love to fly the Vision Jet in MSFS2020 (in VR, with a motion rig 😊), and I wonder how I should set up my stick. I can adjust the springs and friction for both axis, and of course I would like it to behave as close to the real thing as possible! Thanks in advance, and I hope there will be more of your excellent flight videos!

It’s totally different in real planes. There is stick shaker and stick pusher if you fly into a stall bit otherwise nothing like a SIM.

@@DonAv8sthanks! But my question remains: is the stick in the Vision Jet a fly-by-wire device or is it connected direcly to the plane‘s control surfaces?
@DonAv8s
@DonAv8s 3 ай бұрын
@@hanskrohn They are direct connections through a mixing unit

Don, your videos keep getting better. One question I had is when ATC gives you a crossing restriction 30 miles before destination at 8000 ft, your technique was Build it in the FMS, Bug the altitude, but rather than Button it by hitting VNV, you decided to use VS and adjusted your decent with the wheel to adjust the "banana arc". I prefer using VNV. Was there a reason you prefer VS? Thanks again and great talking with you today...Tom
@DonAv8s
@DonAv8s 5 ай бұрын
Hi Tom. Thanks for watching, I probably did not explain. The situation was that the second crossing restriction required more than 1500 ft./min. so I opted to initiate the descent using VS instead since I wanted to go fast.

Why not VNAV direct?

A bit late to this video, but I have a systems question. Do you have to manually balance the tanks or do the systems handle it and you just need to monitor?
@DonAv8s
@DonAv8s 2 ай бұрын
@@newbievonnewberson7390 Thanks for watching!! The tanks auto switch at a steady interval but sometimes fuel is loaded a bit off balance. We can fly with as much as 15 gals of imbalance from one tank to the other. We can select which tank to use manually since it only pulls fuel from one tank at a time. We use manual selection to balance the tanks in flight or on the ground.

Were you just manually adjusting the trim? Or was that something else?
@DonAv8s
@DonAv8s 5 ай бұрын
Probably so. Not sure which portion of the video you are referencing but you can manually adjust pitch trip using a trim wheel next to the throttle. Normally done on climb out. There is a hat switch on the side stick for fine adjustments.

What’s the tip when the brakes fail and there’s no thrust reverser, is cirrus reimbursing owners for this known defect.
@DonAv8s
@DonAv8s 5 ай бұрын
It’s not really a fleet wide issue. All planes could have brake failure. This is why there is a checklist item to check brake pressure before landing. Divert to a longer runway is the only resolution if brakes fail.
