Thanks for the video, i have friends that tried to use the QR code, but was very confused as to where and when to use it, or where to go. This is the first video with directions on where to go. I’ll be visiting in a few months, hopefully I’ll have better luck than my friends. 🤞

Hi, Yes, you can fill it now, as long you have your flight and accommodation information. And it's good to double check again, few days before your flight that all the information is good on the Visit Japan Web.

I have a friend who just landed in Japan March 16, 2004, she said at immigration they required each family member to have a QR code. So they ended up having to fill up the paper form. But at custom, only 1 QR code is asked for the entirely family. Very puzzled.

I'm not sure in detail, how your friend go through the immigration, but below is what i assume might be the issue: Yes, each member need to have their own QR code when going through the immigration checkpoint. A common misunderstanding about the Visit Japan Web for family members is that, most assume that they can share the code between each other since everyone registered into 1 account. Below are a few points to note: 1. Even if family member registered into 1 account, each member will still have their own individual QR code. 2. When going through the immigration checkpoint, only 1 person at a time for family members, unless with small children. 3. Before proceeding to the immigration counter, each family member should have their own QR code with them. Either a screenshot of the QR code or they can log into the same account as per the main user. And display their own QR code with their own name displayed. And during custom.checkpoint, for paper form case, Yes, only 1 form for entire family. Actually it apply to all other countries too, only 1 form is required when traveling together with family members. Hope it clear some of your queries...

If you take photo beforehand, you don't need a wifi connection during entire immigration and custom process. I go through the whole checkpoints just using the screenshot for my Feb trip.

Hi, and Yes, you still have to get this QR code and the procedures still remain un-change. But you still have the option to submit the paper form instead of the QR code if you prefer.

Once you register your itinerary, scroll down to the immigration clearance and custom declaration tab and select it, then complete the steps. Once done, you will get the qr code.

Hello, I believe it is the immigration clearance and custom declaration QR code, the new QR code combine the 2 into "1 QR code" that can be use for both clearing the immigration and custom declaration checkpoint.

It won't cause much problem, it just that you won't be able to use their "Tax-free QR Code" function.
