When using the Kansai Hiroshima pass you can reserve seats online using the pass, as long it is JR lines and required seat reservation. Hi, if you go to just Osaka and Kyoto for 2 days, Kansai Mini Pass is more than enough, but take note mainly just JR line and not the subway. If somehow, subway is necessary for some attraction, just use the transport IC card like ICOCA card or SUICA. But if you find yourself taking more subway lines than the JR line, i would recommend the Kansai Railway pass as it provide unlimited subway rides for both Osaka and Kyoto, but it cost more.
