One of the most underrated cars on the market and definitely the most underrated petrol/diesel car on the market. It’s definitely the understated car for intelligent but not boring people.

The only new VW I kept…2020 V8 tdi. Dealers tried to sell me a R Hybrid last year and told them until they do another V8 diesel I won’t be back. Try one…you’ll love it 😜

VWs are designed for tall people, hence why I'd love to own a Tiguan. Unfortunately, VWs aren't reliable enough.

There’s a 2018 Tiguan Allspace on Carsales right now for 14000, with 215000 kms on the clock. I’m so tempted to get it for my second ever car. 😊
@kareembaba7498Күн бұрын
@@bobbrown3471Just because a car has high mileage, doesn’t mean it’s reliable. The owner could’ve spent a lot of money maintaining it. There’s a reaso why you still see 30 year old Hondas and Toyotas on the road, and not VWs

This is the powertrain that VW should have put in the new Amarok. That would have made it standout on its own. 8speed ZF, with Ford's 4wd transfer case and the 3L v6 diesel with 210kW.
@drivingenthusiastaustralia27 күн бұрын
@@AD28197 That would be awesome

Sadly VW’s silly 90 degree V6 is too wide to package in cars not specifically designed for it. It would be a far more reliable powertrain than the Lion V6 and 10R80 in the Rangerock, though.

Way too pricey for this class of vehicle, but in saying that this hefty bugger is quicker than most sporty hatches/sedans from 0-60km/h, that low end diesel torque really helps it compared to the lag that most turbo petrols have. The R50 Touareg with the TT 5.0L (4.9) V10 diesel was a gem, if you can get your hands on one of those to test it’d be great.
@madrx226 күн бұрын
The v10 touareg's were absolute Lemons, so was the rest of the vehicle. Gem? hahah yeh right.
@Jimvl3pv27 күн бұрын
Didn't expect for it to be that quick for the power and weight. Would have been interesting to have seen this in the new Amarok, not a huge weight difference
@Kry2Cyz27 күн бұрын
Can you compare this to the 170TDI? how much difference is the really in the 0to 100 times ? VW’s are always quicker in really in relation to 0 to 100 in comparison to what is quoted on papers

Because the whole Dieselgate thing gave Diesel a bad name. Lots of consumers abandoned it because they thought it was dirty, lots of manufacturers reduced R&D on Diesels because of it, Euro emissions standards kept getting harder to meet. Lots of factors to it.
@bobbrown347127 күн бұрын
People just assume it’s dirty and bad for the environment, but it actually had way more benefits and is not that bad.
