VOLVO is just hands-down, the best truck on the planet from the ground up to the engine design ,to the transmission to the integration to the ingenious way,They’ve designed the interior. They really thought this out well hats off to the Swedes that’s where it came from originally even though they are the most American made truck you can buy. Simply excellent!

@@NovejSpeed3 better go do your homework. Originally Volvo was designed and came from Sweden. Go look into it as I mentioned originally my truck, which is a 2000 was built from Sweden parts and now as I mentioned before they are built all in the United States.

@@robrtx7910 yes you're correct Volvo is a Swedish company and the VNLs and VNRs definitely use Volvo Sweden parts bins....However like I said, they were both originally designed and built by Volvos north American division not the Swedish one.

My wife and I own a very small trucking company. We have 3 trucks, all Volvo, because we like the Volvo brand, but recently we have had problems with 2 trucks that we purchased that have caused us great pain. The model and VIN of these two trucks are: VNL760 and VNL860, . The truck with the problem was just bought back within a short period of time, it can be said it is new truck, when we drove the new truck on the road climbing a hill, the tube of the coolant cooling system of the truck suddenly burst, The reason is that the rubber hose of the truck and a part of the truck engine (a vertical iron rod) rubbed together and caused the rubber hose to rupture. The coolant instantly lost a lot, the truck's red light alarm: coolant critical low. We immediately stopped the truck on the side of the road and sought help from the road service. It is desperate that all Volvo Dealers do not have this Part. If you want to buy it, you need to order from the manufacturer, the price is expensive And there is no telling when you will receive the part.

It does tilt up. You just release it from the latch underneath. To close it you just push it back down until it latches again

Nice Volvos in the US, i have been driving trucks nort of the polarcirckle in Norway. I drove a FH16 650 2016 model. I wonder what setups are possible in the US regarding axle configurations, auxilarary brakes and heating. In the nordic countries in Europe the most usual are 6x2 and tagaxle with transfere and lift, auxilarary brakes are use of retarder an ordinary thing, and a auxilarary heater such as webasto or eberspächer a must. 😊

the next time you go to order one of these ask the sales guy what he knows about a "down sped" spec truck. if he start to look at the ceiling or simply says "not much" then you are at the wrong stealership. there are plenty of guys out there running these never Volvo trucks getting between 9 & 10 mpg with a bone stock truck.

If I were to buy today, the Volvo would be the way to go if I’m waiting 5 to 7 maybe 10 years from now probably go with the Tesla. Volvo also has some electric options that are coming. Time will tell what all the electric options are going to be but the grid just isn’t ready for over the road electric so getting a Volvo now would be good for about the next 10 years then electric may be a better option.

@MarK-ig4ux, the reason that the US truck driver are afraid of technology, only a minority of American drivers and companies are willing to accept technology. I only found out the other day that US trucks run a 12v electrical system compared to European trucks that run 24v systems, this explains why they have to have an apu or idle the engine overnight to run the heayers or a/c, this is how far behind in truck technology the USA is.

It's manufactured in 2023, yes, but it's a 2024 model. Just like for cars, everything that is manufactured in the second half of the year, they call it a next year model. For trucks it's whatever is manufactured within the first quarter of the year and later, is called a next year model
