I think the perceived luxuriousness of the interior colour depends on the market. Europeans prefer a more light interior and here in South Africa, we mostly prefer dark interiors.

I understand cause Europe is usually dark and grey (cloudy, rainy or snowing). While our side is mostly hot, bright and sunny. So they'd prefer a light interior so it doesn't feel dark & soulless inside. Whereas, we would prefer a dark interior cause light interiors tend to be bright and sun reflective-ish or blinding, which can be distracting. Hence they're not preferable here.

Hi Rebs Regarding the interior, I think they adopted a simplicitic approach. I think I speak for both of us when I say it didn't do them much justice. However like you mentioned & I agree with you on that point is that they've used quality materials making it a solid interior. Big thumbs up there. And regarding the exterior. I noticed how big the tail gate is. I think it could have been more functional if they had the split tail gate like your X5 & Rang Rover. Also, the side profile is giving X7 wouldn't you say? And lastly. They could have made a bigger fuel tank I mean... the GLE has a 93L tank. Besides that I think the Swedish made a good car.

Masebe 3 minutes I could tell you have changed gears and because you've changed smoothly like a ZF8SPEED,I can't put my finger into it. I loved the review and yeah this car looks outdated, I agree. The XC60 on the other side looks and feels cute and s breath of fresh hair. This Car gets 7.5/10 from me ( even though I didn't drive it)just for the bland aging interior. It's possible that Volvo is reserving the new interior to a coming EX90. If it were my money I'd take the Volvo XC60 recharge notwithstanding the lack of CCS fast charging on the car. Either the XC60 or the IX3. It's cute tlhe Masebe waitse mara. Well-done

My mother owns a 2018 S60. The turning circle in that is also pretty bad. I'm not sure if the XC90 has this issue but we have to reset the driving mode every time we start the car. When I set it to eco mode I'd like it to stay in eco when I start it up.

Nice car, overall, but the full touch screen interface, even for climate control, is rather off-putting. Also, considering how big the car is, and the price range, I'm surprised that it does not come with rear-wheel steering as a standard feature.

I'd take this over that overpriced GLE450d😂😂. It has everything you need plus Volvos are built like tanks. It will stand the test of time. A lot of the reason is also cause the XC90 is more bang for your buck for the price. Plus people are probably gonna think I'm a doctor or someone in medicine😅

SA car reviewers are superficial in how they do their reviews. Honestly, car buyers don't care about the infotainment inside the cars. What we want to know is deep info on: 1. How durable vehicle engines are, 2. How reliable/strong vehicles are in relation to the South African landscape/roads (in-land province vs coastal province engine performance), 3. Ownership costs, maintenance, tire prices, etc, 4. If these new cars are for keeps (like a Cressida) or are just rubbish that must be replaced after two years.
