Something else that Vance did was he not only showed that you do not need to make your opponent into the biggest villain in history in order to be effective, he also reminded everyone what politics in this country used to and should look like. While Walz avoided answering the questions and attacked Trump every chance he could, Vance made a point of answering the questions directly and didn’t stoop to personal attacks.

I disagree with you, I don’t want to see these candidates at a critical time in this country being cordial! There should’ve been more definitive, clear party lines. Kamala Harris has been VP 3 1/2 years. There is a movie coming out called lines in the sand, this was a precursor and a border patrol officer, gun whistleblower reporting about the most heart, wrenching, heart, breaking human trafficking, going on at the southern border. Had Donald Trump won the election. Millions of lives would have been saved, the main stream media is codifying the American people Into being cordial, and cordial is what you’re looking for don’t watch politics. If you do watch politics, then watch both sides, if you don’t, you’ll desire being cordial to each other. What really upsets me is the American people will be standing in food lines, possibly starving and we have people who want to be cordial. The fact checkers never corrected walz on the language of what his abortion bill actually said in Minnesota, and never pushed back on him to answer if he believes abortion in the 9th month is ok. There is no human right to kill another human, especially babies. The constitution does mention abortion though, in the 10th amendment which would give that to the states to decide, not the national government. The moderators never corrected walz when he said project 2025 Trump's plan. The cdc website doesn't say gun violence is the leading cause of death in children, and if we want to get technical with it abortion would be the leading cause of death for infants. The moderators were snarky saying "thanks for explaining how the law works" when Vance was literally describing how Harris allowed protected illegal immigration and how to abuse a faulty asylum system. Yes, the women of Aspen are probably not big MAGA fans but that doesn’t correlate to anything in the actual country

The suburban women vote Ben and the rest of the establishment republicans have been trying to capture again ever since 2004 when they were the security moms is a fallacy. They’re now grandmas or dead. The suburban women today are college educated, possibly a divorced mom who hates baby daddy, or no kids and woke as hell. Republicans won’t ever get that vote. Trump understood this, that’s why he reshaped the party into a workers party and crushed the establishment that doesn’t do anything for the people. Another note, these guys still believe the 2010 Tea Party movement wanted small government when in actuality they were just pissed off at what democrats were doing. They were young MAGA types who rely on social security and the social safety net when times are hard. JD Vance’s life in a nutshell. Ben would still rather ship jobs over to China because he’s free market and loves slave labor as long as it makes prices low for items he buys.

NO Amber Thurman was late for her appointment in South Carolina. She was been given abortion pills by the doctors because they could not conduct the originally planned procedure because of her tardiness. They gave her strict instructions, to stay in town for a night after taking them and not attempt to drive home after taking the SBA approved abortion pill. She did it anyway and then wasn’t feeling too well after driving in traffic for hours. She did everything the doctors told her not to do. I believe shortly after, due to the abortion inside of her, she failed to call doctor for 20 hours. Until the pains were so bad that she had to get hospitalized. She had a sepsis inside of her and her blood was all messed up from the dead fetus. The doctors did not hesitate, they just had to strategize on how to take out the dead child. They are blaming Trump because she couldn’t get the abortion pills in that state, but had to travel to the nearby state of South Carolina. She did it, she was given the pills because she was late and didn’t make it on time. She was told to be there a particular time and she failed and was giving the secondary procedure which was the pills. She was given the pills and she was told to chill out for a night and to report any complications. She failed on doing this and went right home. Let’s just be honest Walz!

Jeremy made an excellent point - there is a subsegment of ppl who wouldn’t vote for Trump based on personality. Vance came across as a contrast to Trump that gives them ‘permission’ to vote the ticket.
@joaocherrydon9413Ай бұрын
Nope. If they’re that weak willed and emotional based there’s no way they’re looking at that Trump name on the ballot and voting for it. The issue is pretending like people can be rational on decisions like these. Jeremy, Ben, Matt, etc. are rational in a lot of political matters (not all though) but most people - especially independents/undecideds - are not rational thinkers. A rational thinker is not undecided after 3.5 years of a disaster and then for someone with clearly the entire political and media apparatus behind them.

I'm not American, so I know I have a limited ability to speak on this ... but as someone on the outside looking in, this was so much better than the dumpster fire that was the Presidential Debate - that was terrible .... and so I disagree that the debate was moderated badly ... They didn't let Walz off of his tricky question, but they didn't let Vance off either, at different times, they both got pinned down ... plus the moderators stopped the boys from fighting at the beginning and shut them BOTH down ... I know it came off as unfair to JD because he was midway through a point, but he was warned several times that he was out of time so he could have made more punchy points or just started talking faster, he didn't ... More questions there would have been good though, but given how boring this is, I know why they kept it moving, otherwise they would have gotten bogged down ... However, it didn't benefit Walz, and he didn't get to drag Vance on any points either, so Walz didn't come out of that exchange (or the whole debate) better off ... In the end, I think Trump made a superb pick with Vance, and Harris made an awful pick with Walz ... Vance won that debate - he was by far the superior speaker and conveyed his points better, he stayed on point better, even if he strayed from a question to start with, he did come back to it, Walz on the other hand tried to evade a lot and he didn't successfully wriggle away, it was either very obvious he was running, or Vance would stick him with a dart - and the moderators even pinned him down once ... Again, as an outsider watching, I think the point was made that Trump/Vance is going to give you an answer (even if you don't like it), where as Harris/Walz is going to try to hide their actual answer with fluff --- and if you care about that, then Trump/Vance clearly won ... so as far as policy's go, you have a clearer idea of what you're getting from Vance, although I will grant I have a better idea of what BOTH parties are going to do after this debate - I learned nothing from the debate of Trump V Harris .... And, if it is just on presentation, I think Vance pulls Trump up and gives him a good shot at winning ... Walz I don't think really hurts Harris, because most people do not care about your VP, if you ask non-Americans, I can probably guarantee that no one even remembers who ran with H.Clinton and we have no idea of the VP's before that - we just do not care ... But not hurting her is not the same as helping her, and he sure as hell does not help her! Good luck America!!!
@codeguiseАй бұрын
As an outside myself, I do think the moderators were bad. The debate was better, but I don't attribute that to the moderators, I think it's because of the debators. The fact check on JD saying the immigrants in Ohio are there legally I don't think can be excused. They also didn't let JD just respond however he saw fit after asking Walz a question. They would ask Walz a question, he would lie, then they would ask JD a different question in respond to Walz' lie, rather than let him address it. I didn't notice them doing that the other way, so I think it was unfair. I do think that Vance handled it well by first addressing Walz, regardless of what the moderator asked, and then answering their stupid question.
