No mention of the touch sensitive controls on the steering wheel - are they still present? The user controls are high on the list of reasons not to buy this car for me. I don't have as big an issue with the price; if we expect to pay Chinese prices for everything we buy then pretty soon there'll be no manufacturing at all anywhere else, and that can't be a good thing.

The screen size is not that big of a deal. You know, you don´t watch a movie from that screen.

They certainly needed to do something with the interior trim. The first incarnation was disgraceful with it's cheap plastic everywhere - at a starting price of £37,000.00 it needs to be spot-on. With the Chinese cars so much cheaper VW have got some strong competition on their hands.

Why do people keep saying that VW is premium? There interiors, tech, design and reliability are OK at best and yet they charge premium prices and fools of customers keep buying them. Kia, Hyundai, Honda and even Peugeot are more premium and have better reliability.

vw offer a lighter interior trim people don't always like dark roofs it makes it feel claustrophobic, you don't do it to the golf so why do it to the id3, if that changed it may be worth a look or ill wait for the golf 9 EV 77kwh
