After comparing all the faired models in the segment, I found the RC390 to be the best VFM and practical bike for India.. Powerful, Great Handling, Great Brakes, All the tech you need and Cheap to maintain. Single cylinder, yes but not as vibey as some other counterparts. Only thing missing is the adjustable front suspension.

I love how Yamaha doesnt care about the competition. They know in this world of everchanging technology, some old school riders will not care about a slipper clutch, riding modes and stuff. That they would love to turn back time and resonate with the old analog world. All they would want is a bike with character, a hoot to ride in the city as well as the twisties, with the wind in our hair. Always a Sarge fan 🤟 Always a Yamaha fan.

I was looking at the R7 as my second bike after my XSR 125 until I realized I absolutely do not need to be going that fast. The R3 is perfect, just need to be honest with myself about why I want to ride, is it to enjoy riding or to pose. I don't care if the competition has more ccs, more power, is cheaper or anything like that, I want a trouble free experience and I trust Yamaha on that. I prefer my bike to be fast enough for everything I want to do with it and not one bit faster, rather have to push it to the limit if I want to go faster and not constantly having to hold myself back not to go too fast. And yes, I'm one of those people who won't look past a Japanese bike, unless they are a BMW but they are way too much motorcycle for my needs. To each their own.

Thanks for the great review Sarge!! I own this 2024 model. Yes, agree it's not a value for money machine. I was trying to choose between Ninja 400 and 2024 R3. I would say it boils down to individual needs. Being a middle aged rider I was looking for a comfortable, light weight, twin cylinder, reliable machine and cheaper to maintain. R3 is a no fancy machine. It's a raw, reliable and rustic machine which does everything what its supposed to do. Service cost is less than 3k for a twin!!! Bliss to ride in city because of its light weight and flickable nature. Highway ride is very poised and extremely balanced even at 160+ speeds. No provision for luggage or pillion comfort. Good FE for a twin about 25-28 average. Gearing is slick and precise. Overall fun machine.

Sarge are the riding ergonomics too committed in the RS? R3 can still work as Sport tourer but would the RS also be able to do that ?

Yamaha selling their old bikes in India... The truth is.. 1. The R3 is not E20 complaint..they don't tell it anywhere..sadly no youtuber speaks about it.. 2. All bikes selling in India are facing rusting issues..low quality..coolant mixing etc.. Feels launch of R3 like a political stunt..to hide some truths and improve the image in public.

Sir what should an ideal first bike be? Is it dangerous for beginner riders to hop on a bike with extra hp? Any suggestions please? Riding isn’t my passion, I just like to ride bikes at this point of time… 😊

Hi Sagar! Love your videos as always but not this R3. The addition of USD forks and all LED setup is appreciable but YAMAHA should have work on some technical specs like Colour Instrument Cluster despite being changing the design language of the Legendary Previous R3. That one looks far more aggressive with inverted twin headlams and overall design than the 2024 R3.....what do you think ?

Hey Sarge, is the R3’s breaking performance better than the current gen RC390?
