Yes Sir, I disagree with your dealer too - 100% worth rebuilding that saw. I've never seen a green wire on these saws either - that's an odd one?? Put your knot at the end of the pull rope and wind 1 or 2 more rounds of tension on the spring so the pull handle retracts fully.

I think that's the ground wire. it's connected behind the cylinder. Probably got ripped out of the harness.
