It’s nice to see husky getting some love on the KZbins. Not everyone needs a 500i and it’s a hell of a saw, but for my use the 562 works for me. Comfortable in the hands, good power, reliable, and not overly heavy.

I've been using a chainsaw since 1974. Not for a living but on and off as needed. I've used every sharpening gadget known to man. I tossed them all and strictly hand file now... no guides, no gadgets. And I follow Buckin' Billy's "Get the Gullet" method. It is far and away the best sharpening method there is. So if you want to go back to sharpening school check out Buckin's videos on how to "Get the Gullet". Probably has a dozen videos. Worth watching at least several of them. Buckin' kinda drives me nuts but the man can flat out sharpen a saw.

They’re all nice saws. Cutting gear makes a difference. Having a local dealer is important when you need something. I just do my own firewood and property work; I have a Stihl MS261c and run an 18” bar and it does all I need it to very well. Huge step up over the 455 Rancher I had before. I haven’t felt the need for a larger saw. I definitely like a lighter weight saw for operator fatigue though.

I have a Husky that I bought new 30 years ago. I don't cut much firewood anymore, but used to cut for myself and my father-in-law. Other than replacing the air filter, spark plug, bar and chains the only thing I have done is replace the carb. I hadn't used it in 2 years and when I went to use it, the carb was gummed up from sitting with fuel in it. It has been a good saw, it has always started easily and run well.

Actually, husqvarna or stihl is quite expensive for someone who doesn't use it for something very professional,I purchased a chainsaw from proyama on Amazon. Awesome saw and unbelievable value for the money. Had 4 saws at the time started project including brand new Neo Tec (which ran for bit and died) 42 large pine trees down with straight stuff ready for ride to saw mill and all crooked and broken cut into rounds. Then 4 more hardwood trees cut into rounds. Saw hasn't missed a beat. The thing I love the most about it is the way it runs sideways when trimming down stumps carb keeps the fuel flowing and doesn't sputter a bit. Out of saws I had 16in Ryobi ran good for branches and this baby just runs and cuts and was life saver. Rest went in recycle bin and neo-tec waiting for refund. Need a great saw and don't want to spend 1200 on a Stihl or Husky price this is it!!!

At 77 I pick up the lightest that starts the easiest and let the sons handle the rest! As you being novice (don't be insulted but proud) I'm so impressed you understand the absolute need to move the excavator tracks with your feet! People that don't operate with their feet are only using about a third of the machine--now that's a shame! Thanks for great videos!

Feet on the pedals is a great point. With your hands on the uppers controls you don't have to let go of the track drive levers to grab some upper function. Doesn't sound like much but split seconds can make all the difference when things start to go bad as they can in a hurry.

Great video Adam. I was a parts guy for almost 45 years. Back in the 1980s I bought a Jonsred 520 SP. I had gone into the shop with the intent of buying a Stihl. The the gal at the shop talked me out of it because of parts availability. She related a story that one of her customers needed a new carburetor for his Stihl. She ordered it. And they sent the wrong one. She said it had taken three months to get it. She re-ordered it again and it was another three months before she got the correct carburetor for her customer. She said with Jonsred, she can have parts the next day. I think they were out of Minnesota. That said, maybe they got a really great deal and discounts from Jonsred and they were buddies if you know what I mean. At any rate, I would probably buy a Husqvarna if I ever have to replace my current saw. It’s still running quite strong.

Doug is 100% right. The Stihl 2 in 1 sharpener will take the depth gauge too much for the tooth. Tell Doug to remove the raker file and file the teeth as usual and file the rakers down by hand separately. He will have a much better cutting chain. And by the way i returned one of the Stihl sharpner because of that same reason and got another one. Both sharpeners were the same. I have had both Stihl and Husky saws, and both are great saws. To me there is a couple more important factors than speed and weight. Another important one is vibration, with heavy saws or any kind of hand power tools. If you carry a tool around a lot of vibration will cause just as much fatigue and soreness as weight. Another kinda important thing is how far away is the closets dealer, being able to get parts more or less when you need them, is a big help when you are in the middle of something and something breaks or needs changing. Having to delay to next day or longer can be a big pain in the a**. That 572 though on just power and weight, seems to be a pretty good ballance between power and weight. It definitely cut fast. I wouldnt carry the extra weight of the 585 unless I REEEEEALY had too

I bought the 562 just over 5 years ago. I haven't had any issues yet. There is a point it will act sluggish and that is when I need to blow out or purchase a new air filter. In 5 years though, that hasn't happened but maybe 2 times. Guessing I have 20 cords cut with it so far. The reason I purchased this particular size in the Husqvarna line is it offered the most power for the weight. I was pleasantly surprised it outperformed the Stihl ms400 which I believe was slightly larger in size.

Same chain types on all saws, right? Great comparison of the various saws out there that a pro homeowner might consider for high production firewood cutting. When I'm out on trail crew, I really like the 291 over the 462, just for the weight. When hauling a saw over 5 miles of trail, weight can be more than power / cutting speed. If I were to be cutting dozens and dozens of rounds of firewood, weight may be less an issue and raw cutting speed may be more of a consideration.
