It’s nice to see husky getting some love on the KZbins. Not everyone needs a 500i and it’s a hell of a saw, but for my use the 562 works for me. Comfortable in the hands, good power, reliable, and not overly heavy.

Its plain and simple! Husqvarna is way better than a over rated Stihl! Husqvarna is the cream of the crop!

I've been using a chainsaw since 1974. Not for a living but on and off as needed. I've used every sharpening gadget known to man. I tossed them all and strictly hand file now... no guides, no gadgets. And I follow Buckin' Billy's "Get the Gullet" method. It is far and away the best sharpening method there is. So if you want to go back to sharpening school check out Buckin's videos on how to "Get the Gullet". Probably has a dozen videos. Worth watching at least several of them. Buckin' kinda drives me nuts but the man can flat out sharpen a saw.

The cut times were similar. I would take the lightest saw, keep the chain sharp. Have the big one as my large tree saw/ back up.

I had a 562xp and really liked it. Good power for its size and more durable that the 357xp it replaced. Then I left it sitting on a a tailgate and drove off. Lost the saw but found my hard hat and smashed oil jug. Someone found themselves a nice saw. We got a 572xp to replace it. Needed more power and a replacement for dad’s old 288xp. Love the 572 as well.

I have a 592 XP-G and this is a beast. In one of my last videos i cut about 10 cords of poplar with diameters between 24 and 36 inch with a 36"-bar alone in one day. I cut the wood to about 10 inches, this is a standard length here in germany. I love this saw very much...😃

They’re all nice saws. Cutting gear makes a difference. Having a local dealer is important when you need something. I just do my own firewood and property work; I have a Stihl MS261c and run an 18” bar and it does all I need it to very well. Huge step up over the 455 Rancher I had before. I haven’t felt the need for a larger saw. I definitely like a lighter weight saw for operator fatigue though.

I have a Husky that I bought new 30 years ago. I don't cut much firewood anymore, but used to cut for myself and my father-in-law. Other than replacing the air filter, spark plug, bar and chains the only thing I have done is replace the carb. I hadn't used it in 2 years and when I went to use it, the carb was gummed up from sitting with fuel in it. It has been a good saw, it has always started easily and run well.

Actually, husqvarna or stihl is quite expensive for someone who doesn't use it for something very professional,I purchased a chainsaw from proyama on Amazon. Awesome saw and unbelievable value for the money. Had 4 saws at the time started project including brand new Neo Tec (which ran for bit and died) 42 large pine trees down with straight stuff ready for ride to saw mill and all crooked and broken cut into rounds. Then 4 more hardwood trees cut into rounds. Saw hasn't missed a beat. The thing I love the most about it is the way it runs sideways when trimming down stumps carb keeps the fuel flowing and doesn't sputter a bit. Out of saws I had 16in Ryobi ran good for branches and this baby just runs and cuts and was life saver. Rest went in recycle bin and neo-tec waiting for refund. Need a great saw and don't want to spend 1200 on a Stihl or Husky price this is it!!!

Great video Adam! I have a 562 and love it. It’s a nice balance in my opinion. Has some snot but not super heavy. I truly believe it comes down to which dealer is closer to you if you own a husky or a stihl. Both great brands. It’s like the Chevy/Ford rivalry.

At 77 I pick up the lightest that starts the easiest and let the sons handle the rest! As you being novice (don't be insulted but proud) I'm so impressed you understand the absolute need to move the excavator tracks with your feet! People that don't operate with their feet are only using about a third of the machine--now that's a shame! Thanks for great videos!

@oldironguy 2 ай бұрын
Feet on the pedals is a great point. With your hands on the uppers controls you don't have to let go of the track drive levers to grab some upper function. Doesn't sound like much but split seconds can make all the difference when things start to go bad as they can in a hurry.

Great video Adam. I was a parts guy for almost 45 years. Back in the 1980s I bought a Jonsred 520 SP. I had gone into the shop with the intent of buying a Stihl. The the gal at the shop talked me out of it because of parts availability. She related a story that one of her customers needed a new carburetor for his Stihl. She ordered it. And they sent the wrong one. She said it had taken three months to get it. She re-ordered it again and it was another three months before she got the correct carburetor for her customer. She said with Jonsred, she can have parts the next day. I think they were out of Minnesota. That said, maybe they got a really great deal and discounts from Jonsred and they were buddies if you know what I mean. At any rate, I would probably buy a Husqvarna if I ever have to replace my current saw. It’s still running quite strong.

Great video, comparison was on point!….when I started with chainsaws I had all stihl, the dealer was close by…they all ended up with carb problems….ended up traveling farther to the husky dealer and bought one…never had a problem with it….I think I have like 14 of them now, mostly 395’s and 372’s, they are bar none the best saws ever made, I have a couple 572’s, that’s a great saw also….but nothing for nothing you only need those 372’s and 395’s….they had that supply chain problem couple years ago and no one had the 372, once the dealer got them in and called I bought two more, still never used them yet…372 is the truly the only one saw you ever would need!

Adam, you ran 5 great saws in this video and any single one of these would be great to have. I am into Stihl simply because I have two dealers less than 10 miles from me. Regarding saw brands Echo, Husqvarna, Stihl etc are all quality products and I would have no issue with owning any of these.

Doug is 100% right. The Stihl 2 in 1 sharpener will take the depth gauge too much for the tooth. Tell Doug to remove the raker file and file the teeth as usual and file the rakers down by hand separately. He will have a much better cutting chain. And by the way i returned one of the Stihl sharpner because of that same reason and got another one. Both sharpeners were the same. I have had both Stihl and Husky saws, and both are great saws. I'm currently running a MS261 and I love it. Nice job on the video.

To me there is a couple more important factors than speed and weight. Another important one is vibration, with heavy saws or any kind of hand power tools. If you carry a tool around a lot of vibration will cause just as much fatigue and soreness as weight. Another kinda important thing is how far away is the closets dealer, being able to get parts more or less when you need them, is a big help when you are in the middle of something and something breaks or needs changing. Having to delay to next day or longer can be a big pain in the a**. That 572 though on just power and weight, seems to be a pretty good ballance between power and weight. It definitely cut fast. I wouldnt carry the extra weight of the 585 unless I REEEEEALY had too

I bought the 562 just over 5 years ago. I haven't had any issues yet. There is a point it will act sluggish and that is when I need to blow out or purchase a new air filter. In 5 years though, that hasn't happened but maybe 2 times. Guessing I have 20 cords cut with it so far. The reason I purchased this particular size in the Husqvarna line is it offered the most power for the weight. I was pleasantly surprised it outperformed the Stihl ms400 which I believe was slightly larger in size.

Adam, If I were to buy a Stihl saw it would be the 500i. I've always had Husqvarna saws and recently had bought a 390 nice saw for cutting big wood. But after further review with the 500 series saws, I think I will be investing in the new Pro 550XP with an 18" bar and full chip chain only because I'm not getting any younger and weight will be a factor for me and besides I do not cut too much big wood and this will be my go to saw when I need one. Great video.

Great video Adam. Short and to the point. The Husqvarna did seem and "did" cut faster - but I wonder if the weight of the saw have anything to do with it. I like having a lighter saw over heavy. Thank you also for having new chains for the comparisons - it shows just how evenly match and also - using the same fuel in all 4 saws. The only thing I wonder if the Stihl might cut faster with Stihl Fuel. I doubt it, but Just a thought. Thanks for sharing.

One question is how sharp are the chains and are they the proffesional grade

Interesting I’ve never used pump gas in my 362 does bog a little bit here and there but I’m pretty aggressive with my chain filing. I may have an experiment give pump gas a shot. I’ll be interested to see what happens. Just really curious. Thanks.

The Stihl 2 in 1 sharpener is nice but def takes a lot off the rakers for sure. I like a big bite in the chain but if you don’t I’d stay away from the 2 in 1.

Good video fella! Sharp chains, consistent wood, same cutting style across the cuts. It doesn’t get much more fair than that.

Adam, we had a set up growing up with a table we could buck on and roll straight to the splitter so you aren’t dropping and having to pick rounds up. I have been looking for something similar to show you. I just saw something similar in a video by Back 40 firewood called “Now this is how you make firewood”. You should check it out.

I ran a new 400 last week and wasn’t impressed. Not much torque but to be fair it was on its second tank of gas. I’m considering the 462 and would like to see you redo your test with it.

Seems the sharpening quality was the difference. Would love to see all saws swapped with brand new chains. Huskys were spitting chips, Sthils were spitting dust.

Same chain types on all saws, right? Great comparison of the various saws out there that a pro homeowner might consider for high production firewood cutting. When I'm out on trail crew, I really like the 291 over the 462, just for the weight. When hauling a saw over 5 miles of trail, weight can be more than power / cutting speed. If I were to be cutting dozens and dozens of rounds of firewood, weight may be less an issue and raw cutting speed may be more of a consideration.

What pitch chain is the Stihl running? I assume the Huskies are all running a 3/8 chain. The Pro saws may be taking a bigger bite because of the extra power available. Great videos.

If the chain on Doug’s saw was better sharpened so it didn’t bite so hard I’d say it would be on par with the 585

Great video. I however would not use premixed fuels. There can be issues from can to can in the mix and it can become stale sooner than gas you mix yourself. Go with a good oil like echo red armor, it will never let you down when mixed with non- ethanol gas.

I dissagree with this. Can non ethanon fuel have stabilizers, and a longer shelf life than pump fuel. not arguing, just disagreeing.

@@zarly59 well I have bought several different brands with a 50/1 mix and almost every time my stihls run funny or bog down. I’ve never had an issues with pump gas and a high quality oil
