It definitely needed more rocker in the tail. Previously, it had too much camber that made it actually hard to ski in certain situations. Especially if you have opted for a longer length. At some point it was my only ski in the quiver and it is capable for everything, including short tours. The Shift bindings are literary build for this ski, totally recommend. As for the mounting points, factory is too far back. No matter if you ski park or not, I dont, ever, but still find it too far back which ruins the point of the ski. Currently running +2 and thinking about +3 or 4.

What mountain point would you recommend for someone who is 6” 2’ has the 186 size and spends most of their time on hitting side hits, groomers, and park. (But when powders available that is what I will be doing)

@@SkiEssentials would you recommend these skis for a beginner?
@SkiEssentials
@SkiEssentials 6 күн бұрын
@@CanuckFan1990 I think a beginner could have success here, but the narrower Bent 90 is likely going to be easier to turn and manage. 100 can feel a bit wide for a beginner.

Hi, I would like to step into the park/allmountain/slightly off-piste territorium. I am looking for a ski that can do exacly that while still doing alright on groomers and currently stuggling do decide between the Atomic bent 100 2025 and the Armada Arv 94 or 100 (both 2025)...the Head Oblivion 94 is on my radar as well but I feel like they are not as versatile as the other two (correct me if im wrong). In addition I would also like to lern some butter tricks. Would be super thankful for any advic :) Im 1.86m and would almost exclusivly ski in the alps. Love your work, keep it up! And thank you for your help!

You are correct in that the Oblivion has more of a traditional shape and style to it, so not as drifty as the others. The new Bent 100 is a top ski here as it blends decent groomer performance with exceptional off-piste chops. The ARV, especially the 94, is a bit thicker of a core profile so feels heftier than the 100, delivering better grip and energy on the groomers, but it's not as light or agile as either of the 100's. If you're concerned at all about the carving and on-piste performance, go with the ARV 94.

How do the Bent 100 compare to the Black Crows Corvus Freebird 24/25? I would like to have a wider ski (100+) mainly for touring and powder and sometimes resort. What binding would you recommend on both?
@SkiEssentials
@SkiEssentials Ай бұрын
The Bent (1700 g/ski in 179) is more flexible and lighter. Even though the Corvus Freebird (1912 g/ski in the 183) is marketed as a touring ski, if you're looking for lighter for efficiency, the Bent will fare better. The Salomon/Atomic Shift is the current top binding for mixing in and out of bounds skiing.

I'm 6.2 (1.90m), I ski in France, I'm using the Ben C. 100 (2022) with a "Salomon S/Lab Shift" binding and Scarpa boots. The skies handle amazing on and off piste, they are doing very well in powder and they are more flexible when compared to the Corvus Freebird, I like them much better.

Hi, I'm an advanced skier and I mostly ski on piste, but would like to expand onto off-piste skiing. Park skiing and such isn't too much of a concern. I'm around 183cm tall and I'm looking to buy the bent 100s as my first pair of skis. Would 186cm be too large? I've been skiing with skis reaching my chin up until this point.

I don't think it'll be too long, but maybe will feel long at first.

I'm currently deciding between the QST 98 and the Bent 100's. They seem like a very similar ski, wider shovel on the QST. Do you think there would be any noticeable performance differences between these two skis, either good or bad?
@SkiEssentials
@SkiEssentials Ай бұрын
The QST is heftier and denser feeling--a better carver for sure. The Bent is lighter and more mobile--I'd rather ski that in tricky and sketchy spots, bumps, and tighter trees. The QST is a better pure floater due to the rocker and taper, but the Bent is more accessible for more skiers.

Hi, so I'm an advanced skier 18yo 155 pounds, looking for an all mountain ski. I like to go fast and agressive, do carving and ski on-piste, but also want a ski which is playfull, I can hit side hits, and ski some trees and off trail. Im currently deciding between atomic bent 100, revolt 96, or nordica unleashed 98, oblivion 102. Which one would u guys recommend for me?
@SkiEssentials
@SkiEssentials 26 күн бұрын
It's tough to argue against the Unleashed 98 in this situation. The downside vs. the Bent and the Oblivion is that it's on the heavier side, as is the Revolt. You do get the resulting on-trail carving performance, though, and that's a big plus in my mind.

@matuspavlik8091

Because I would really like to pick bent 100, as it is more playfull and easy to learn jumps on it, but im scared it lacks during carving in higher speeds

@@matuspavlik8091 The Unleashed does it all, just a bit less playful and drifty than the Bent. I'd take the Nordica.

Can be use for powder days ? Is it a good ski for freeride ? (The perfect all conditions ski )

Pretty good floater for a 100 mm underfoot ski thanks to HRZN tech in tips and tails. Very playful as well for creative freeride skiing. Perfect? Not sure that exists, but Bent 100 covers a lot of ground.

Which would be better in the bumps and trees - 2025 Bent 100 (new ski this year) or 2025 Bent 90 (only new top sheet)? Thanks!
@SkiEssentials
@SkiEssentials Ай бұрын
The 90 is better in bumps and packed out trees. The 100 is better for fresh snow trees and deeper woods without losing much in the bump world. I do find the Bent 90 to be one of the best and easiest bump skis out there.

How are the atomics, in carving on hard pack, groomers for an advanced skier?
@SkiEssentials
@SkiEssentials 22 күн бұрын
The harder the snow, the more the ski suffers in a carved turn. In softer groomers it works great.

I like the factory recommended line for this ski but if you're more freestyle-oriented, then you can go 1 or 2 forward of that.

Former owner of this ski, not the current 2024/2025. but specifically 2021/2022, which had no difference from like 2018. Super stupid ski, hard to turn hard to carve, as soft as the front part of the ski is >as stiff to the same level is - the back of the ski. No tail rocker, i used this ski specifically to play around the mountain, due to my nature, as light freestyle skier, I can't recognize how many wipes i had due to tail rocker just stuck into snow like a spear into the target doing 180s 540s, because it is almost non existent, while marked as twin tip. On the bumps the ski does absorb at the front, and give huge rebound at the back, sort of make you feel like you are going to jump out of ski bindings. Same thing when you initiate a carve turn, the tail just does not go the same way as you load your tips. Floatation is absolutely terrible, 180cm lenght mounted at core center +6, with all those fancy HRZN tech trip bullshit, my previous 2016 K2 Shreditor 102, at core center being 177cm floated easily on a powder day, and had no tendency to dive. Sold mine and never regretted a second... unbalanced, stupidly stiff on the rear/stupidly soft upfront, huge rocker at the tip/almost no rocker at the tail, HRZN bs, never showed any advantage over traditional tip structure.
What's the best Ski width for you?
