I agree about the seat belt issue, and also the gearbox. It’s fantastic. Having driven a Ford Focus in various guises for the last 15 years I decided to go for the 120 M Sport exactly like your mother in laws and boy I haven’t been disappointed. Had it now for 3 weeks and love it. Time will tell if I have has much fun in it as I had with the Focus but so far so good. Loved the review. Take care.

I agree with most of your observations ... I would like to know if these cars have 'adaptive damper control' (?) which can be activated post purchase. I have almost come to terms with my new Series 2 Grand Coupé. My main gripe is the hard ride, on my 18 inch tyres. if you live in West Yorkshire to go faster than 50mph is a pipe dream and the car could become exhausting if you have to thud around all day on poor surfaces. My former one series was a better experience - it had knobs for a start. Click ON. Click OFF! *Eyes still on the road. I can also scrabble my front wheel tyres which I never did with RWD. Never mind - on we go...!

At the moment it looks like the only options are passive suspension, although the regular Sport model - with smaller wheels than the M Sport - is now available, could be worth a test drive to see if that would do it. At the moment the new 2 series is only M-Sport

The seat belt issue effects the F40 generation so I do not think they will fix...Have the 128ti and it is a great car so I put up with the couple of small niggles like the passenger seat belt issue..

I’m a 128ti owner too. Never noticed the seat issue.

@@billionbear On mine it just rattles against the plastic covering in the middle between the front and rear doors...does get annoying and I have to move it to the seat bolster to stop it rattling against the side.. obviously not an issue on all so might get my BMW to take a look at it again....

this is 3 cylinder engine car , do you think 3-cyl engines makes problem in the future ?

3 cyl engines are being used more often today and across the industry they seem to last well 👍

The 120 has less boot space now. It’s only 300 litres as opposed to the f40 which had 370 litres. You now lose most of the underfloor storage

You’re right! I should clarify, the space above the boot floor appears identical - but underneath the storage space is almost completely gone due to the battery 👍

The mini cooper is on the UKL1 platform, not the UKL2 used on the 1 series/X1/2 series/X2 and the Mini Countryman - I mention this in the video 👍
