besides the weight, the car looks better and aggressive than the normal 5 series for sure. but interior i dont know why bmw loves plastic these days. gone are the days with beautiful leather everywhere. its criminal to have hard plastic buttons and door cards in a 150k car.. amazing content as always

There's nothing ruined in these cars,just that you're the type of a person that doesn't let go and just likes sticking to the past. Just let go and remember that this is 2024 not 2019. Things are bound to change and they aren't forced to favour or please you cos the designers change things according to new founded customers. I didn’t like the design of the F90 and older BMW models. Then the M3 G80 came out and it was the first BMW that i bought. Now the G90 makes me feel the same way as the G80 before. I love the exterior and interior design!

I dont think its design is that controversial, its mixed but people dont generally hate on the design; the hate is on the sheer fact that this thing is a "sports car" that is as heavy as an X5 which is a full sized SUV.

Rear fender explanaition sounds like excuse. Yeah, in sketches we made smooth transition from door to fender as in M2, but people with numbers came and told to use regular 5 series doors.

I'm a very big fan of BMW especially M-cars and ESPECIALLY THE M5, Now what bugs me is the hybridization the UNNECESSARY EXTRA WEIGHT now the cars weighs WAY TOO MUCH it has an impact on the performance. As time goes on with the E60/F10/F90 versions were super car killers interms of performance and acceleration. This new model is a very beautiful car I'm a fan of your new designs most people criticize BMW's new designs but this is pretty much spot on. So my big concern is for BMW M-division NOT TO MAKE ANY HYBRID CARS IN THE FORM OF THE NEXT NEW MODELS IN THE FORM OF THE FUTURE M3/M4/M2 AND EVEN SUV'S(SAV'S) PLEASE BMW PLEASE KEEP IT ICE.

@@bmwblog looking forward to the review. I’m an F90 driver from Singapore. Got the F90 when it came out in 2019 and just put on 90k KM this week. As much as I love it, I’m looking for a replacement because in Singapore you can only keep the car for 10 years. Also, unlike in North America, the G90 M5 is USD 600,000 so it will be another 5-6 year commitment.

The real issue is the look of the normal G60 , ugly is carried over to the M5. Regarding rear diffuser regulations, doesn’t Mercedes, Audi, and Porsche have the same US regulations? Their vehicles’ diffuser is not ugly.

I think the important thing to take away from this is that the 5 Series is designed before the M car. The designers of the 5 Series have less consideration of the future M car. This designer is then left with the challenge to make an M5 with the from the family sedan. I dont envy his position. They should start by designing the performance car first and then hand it over to make it more economical for the masses.

I think the new 5 deries looks everything but elegant compared wirh rhe G30/G31. The sharp edges and the steep front make it look angry and brutal. This is something you want in an M5, but aomething I miss in the regular car. For me the 5 series always was something with understatement, enough power without showing it. Crome and classic colors made it the perfect business sedan/Wagon. I dont see the car with this character combines with the front. BUT I still love it. Ot is what it is, a good car. I wish they would have kept the possibility to paint the cars exterior without the whole piano black beneith the grill, I think this would look mush more premium. And softer materials with the airbag capsule in the steering wheel would be great. But still, the new i5 or the previous G30 are still my dream car.
