We sailed this ship in August, and loved it! FYI, this is also not an older ship - it was built in 2020 for the Chinese market for Costa (a Carnival subsidiary) but began sailing for Carnival in 2024. It's basically brand new. Same is true of the Venezia. We've been on both LOL. Pro tip if you're sailing out of Long Beach: have your Uber driver leave you on the far edge of the Queen Mary parking lot - the traffic getting in and out of the dropoff / pickup area for the cruise terminal is awful.

I need to know your experience on the Queen Mary. We always stay at Hotel Maya. Tbh I never get in the pool or the hot tubs on the ship. I love that you don’t have to reserve any of the day beds. Other cruise lines require a payment for day beds.

I’m going on this cruise in a few weeks. Did you feel a lot of movement on the boat? Im a bit nervous about it because I have never cruised in winter before.

Hey, yes, it was super rocky 😳😳 I do think the weather played a part in it, but I was definitely struggling. I took Dramamine and had the patches so I was still able to enjoy 🙌🏾

When you review the ship's activities, you will see FRIENDS OF JIMMY K and FRIENDS OF BILL W. JIMMY K on Carnival is NARCOTIC ANONYMOUS and BILL W is ALCOHOLIC ANONYMOUS. There are group meetings on the ship for passengers with the temptation to drink or do drugs onboard.
