After recording this review Cupra announced a pack which features forged wheels and performance tires which should improve the handling. Unfortunately this car was not equipped with that pack.

La verdad es que es de agradecer que vengan hasta aquí a realizar una prueba de lo mal que funcionan los frenos en los eléctricos e híbridos de la plataforma MQB de VW.

@@FranGSainz Frenos de tambor en un coche de 2 Toneladas, lo metes en un tramo de curvas y en 8 frenadas ya los has sobrecalentado y te quedas sin frenos, si el Tavascan fuese térmico sería un "super ventas" de Cupra, pero siendo electrico pocos van a haber

@@M2c_5xx Efectivamente, has puntualizado un tema de sus frenos. Cupras térmicos... habrá que esperar a que salga a venta el León; tiene buena base y buena pinta pero yo ya no me fío de nada hasta que un pobrador "de verdad" nos cuente sus bondades, defectos y mejoras.

I thought Cupra would be the one to go forth and bring fun, sport and value for the consumer whilst thinking green…… it appears this car is only (and depressingly) thinking “electric competition”. The (Seat) cupra of 10 years ago is much different from this…… and I think sales numbers will show. We have a deformed mushroom dash with a quad bike speedometer. Open spaces in the car gives this “open air” perception but it’s nonsense…. CUPRA - Stop thinking about shitting in the woods and turning your cars into a Prius. We’re with you, create the beloved BANG !

Probably it is rather about driver's impressions (or even lack of those) than about poor performance itself. EVs make your mind crazy, as they accelerate so smoothly and silently that you don't really know if it was crazy speed or rather not too fresh scrambled eggs eaten on breakfast.. ;)
