Mostly I agree with you man about the exhaust tips but let me tell you from a former owner of a Fusion 2.0Turbo years ago. Omg the SUT was never never ending. I was against seeing this but looking back i wish my Fusions dual exhaust went to the ground. You could cut them and put a outlet set if u wanted.

In the white how many people let off the gas, signaled right, and moved over when you came up behind them? 🙂

Good point. That never occurred.

Nice video. The more tech we find in vehicles, the more I want an older one. A vehicle they are not tracking me in, mining my data in, and a bit more raw.

3:37 - I could be wrong, but I was under the impression that they started doing that because sometime in the past 5 years or so, one of those years had a bunch of incidents where the carbon monoxide was finding its way back into the car and the driver passed out and cracked. I believe one of those incidents was actually a cop. Anyway, I thought that’s why they started doing that.
@TestDrivenTV
@TestDrivenTV Ай бұрын
The exhaust carbon monoxide issue was related to the last generation Ford Explorer and had nothing to do with the exhaust tip design. They leaked for a variety of reasons including bad compartment sealing with regard to aftermarket police equipment, cracked exhaust manifolds, and exhaust systems with welds that didn't properly seal connections.

@@SuperBizalz we were told by ford with our 16 and 17 explorers the exhaust was coming in from the rear hatch area and have the exhaust come straight out was an issue so according to ford they have the exhaust firing downward to help with their exhaust issues.

The exhaust is not fake. It still has 4 exhaust exits, they just exit out the bottom and it is designed that way so that the tips stay clean. I think its a good idea so your not always having to wipe them off and they stay looking nice longer.
@TestDrivenTV
@TestDrivenTV Ай бұрын
The visual "tips" are fake and a complete styling lie. Just get rid of them and stop lying to customers we tell the automakers. Just have turned down exhaust pipes and leave the fake ornamentation off. People are smarter than that.
@Anthony-fd8mh
@Anthony-fd8mh Ай бұрын
@ lol. It’s really not that big of a deal. Just saves you time from having to clean them. I could care less where the exhaust exits. I would care more if there were 4 tips and only 1 real exhaust pipe.

A great review. But I'm still stuck on which one I like . 1 is the ST but the other is the GMC acadia. Will you be doing any reviews on the GMC Acadia

Why are there no hybrid versions in this generation? What would be the reason to rule out those configurations? Considering that the competition does provide those options. Will you have any information on that topic? Good video.
@TestDrivenTV
@TestDrivenTV Ай бұрын
They are building hybrids. At this time they are only available to police and fleets. Why they are not available to the public market in North America? You would have to ask Ford.

If Ford was so concerned about soot on the tail pipes, why did they make them chrome? They could have just painted them black.
@Anthony-fd8mh

Probably because Chrome is more appealing to the average person🤷‍♂

Do not like that they got rid of the physical buttons after my experiences with the sync system screen freezing, or stop working completely. You will have no climate control, or radio when this happens.
@Anthony-fd8mh
@Anthony-fd8mh Ай бұрын
This is also anew Sync System it is Sync Gen 5, but in the car the software version is 4/4A unless there has been another update. Also if you have the air on Auto you basically just set the temp and ya never have to touch it again as you can also link in the heated and cooled seats into the temp. The only time I touch mine is when I need the recirculation on which admittingly is a little frustrating because it likes to turn off on its own from time to time but I'm not sure if it's designed to do that or not.

Very competent refresh by Ford standards should sell very well in the USA but new Honda refresh is a real problem for a Detroit that is seeing nothing but green here as battery electrics especially from Tesla but also Rivian and even the Ford Mustang MachE so this is not a slam dunk winner at all for Ford especially given very aggressive high pricing. Verdict: long $hmc Honda Motor Corporation strong buy😊😊
@66skate
@66skate Ай бұрын
I wouldn't even consider a Honda over this. If you buy only based on price, you may end up with something you don't really like. The Explorer is a bread & butter vehicle, so you should be able to buy well under MSRP.
@Anthony-fd8mh
@Anthony-fd8mh Ай бұрын
I would not say th9is is aggressive pricing given that it has 400HP. Find another SUV that has 400HP at this price. Go to Jeep and you'll be spending 70 to 80K for less HP and right now their company is all over the place, so if ya need any warranty work, good luck.

California people, as we never see snow unless we drive to it. Admittingly though I got the 4WD/AWD version. Technically it's intelligent 4WD or so they say but I still have not figured out how that is any different than AWD.
@westnash

Ridiculous price and buyers should totally Just Say No to paying extra for normal colors like white. RWD is fine for onroad in desert country but not for snow country so dont play it up so much. 21" wheels are unnecessary, ride rough, look too ghetto and overpriced. Ford should offer a 5.0 V-8 in an Explorer with less frills and a shift lever instead of the stupid knob.

@Anthony-fd8mh
@Anthony-fd8mh Ай бұрын
Price is not not even ridiculous for 400HP, also with Blue Cruise (yes I know you have to pay for that but they are now offering a one time purchase option), and the new infotainment center considering what others are charging. Just look at Jeep and the others and you'll be spending lots more for less power etc.. My ST 4WD/AWD version with a 6 year75K extended Premium warranty with same length service package was only like 65k total. If I went to jeep to get a Grand Cherokee Summit reserve (which I originally wanted) would have had less power, more problems from what I have read and I would have easily spent like 75 to 80k unless you get just the base Summit Reserve given thier crazy pricing and the state of thier company right now.
