What do you think of the gold forks and all-new dampers? Are these new generation of Fox forks the best on the market???

I really appreciate your comment! Words cannot convey how how much time and effort behind the scenes went into getting this video shot, edited and out on time with very little time to do so... Kevin and I wanted to make sure we covered just about all bases, we're glad it didn't go unnoticed. There was SO much amazing content from everyone that was there, glad to get a little slice of the pie.

It Will be interesting to see what they done with the midvalve as well. Made my own midvalve for a rc2 on my fox 40 and got it really good when i was able tune a midvalve with amount of float and valving like a typical mordern MX fork.

Oh man, the full gold forks look insane! Definitely looking forward to riding one. Fox will always have my heart.

Looks solid and the adjustment range for tuning is a huge upgrade. Not sold on the gold but to each their own I guess. 🤙🏻

I just rode it on some local trails a couple of days ago and it is noticeably improved. Coming from two bikes with 38s on them before now, the damper and bushings definitely perform smoother. Very impressed by the improvements!

Awesome video but alot recent reviews people say still prefer Grip 2! As for the new bushings they must fit the older lowers being the same lowers? I have a fit4 on my new emtb I'll be swapping out the Damper I think but the lowers are that horrid orange! Fox really need to revise a new colourway for their orange to a blue,green or graphite grey or something! Golds not for me i know in my LBS not 1 set gold has been sold but the blacks going fast! Orange and gold such a bad choice of colours

Thanks for watching! I'm still on this new fork/Grip X2 damper and definitely don't prefer the Grip 2 over it by any means, it's a noticeable improvement in my personal opinion. It's smoother throughout the travel so it rides more predictably through a wide variety of terrain, especially rock gardens. As far as the bushings, I'm not 100% sure on fitment. In theory they should fit right in because the lowers are unchanged, but I don't want to say for sure that they will just in case there is something else that happened that prevents that. Another change is the stiffer steerer that they pulled from their e-bike line for at least the 38, I'd have to cross-check part numbers to see if it's the same for the rest of the line. The color thing is definitely subjective and they don't match too many bikes out there that well, including mine, but as soon as our gold inventory hit the site, orders started rolling in and they continue to do so.

are people able to use the gripx2 dampener in their old 38 forks? just wondering as older forks with fit4 was able to upgrade to grip2
@jensonusabicycles7 ай бұрын
Yes, it is backwards compatible. New fork has new bushings and a new steerer tube that also improve the ride feel, but the damper a la carte is an upgrade in itself. It should be available for purchase within the next couple of months or so.
@ridedirtymtb99385 ай бұрын
any word on how the sl damper rides compared to the fit4? seems they went backwards with offering low compression on the fit4 lockout version compared to the open closed of the grip sl

Fox is aiming for availability at the end of next month for that limited edition colorway, which is when ordering capability should open up.

From the time Kevin and I have spent on them, we noticed the improvement. I'm coming directly from 2 different bikes with Fox 38's with Grip2 dampers and I'm impressed.

So my old threaded, oneup edc wont work on the new 38??
@jensonusabicycles7 ай бұрын
I'm not 100% sure on that so I don't want to comment on it and be wrong, but I can tell you without a doubt that the threadless carrier didn't come even remotely close to fitting into the new 38. I'm not sure what system Rémi Gauvin tried to use for his OneUp tool, but we both failed trying to install ours in the new fork.
@SosBoss7 ай бұрын
@@jensonusabicycles gonna receive my 38 tuesday and will post back here. Did you guys see if the tool slides into the steerttube by its self, without the threadless adapter?
@jensonusabicycles7 ай бұрын
@@SosBoss I honestly can't remember if we did or not because I was still installing parts on my bike at 12:00 AM. It seemed like there was some sort of lip inside the steerer that made it impossible to get even remotely close to sliding the carrier down further and the tool itself isn't much smaller than the carrier itself so I'm very curious to see whether or not it fits. Wondering if the EDC Lite is a better/easier fit. Do report back if you remember... thank you.
@SosBoss6 ай бұрын
@@jensonusabicycles So I just installed the new x2 38, the tool fits in the tube before i cut it. Then when cut to length the tool got stuck on that thicker part, so it goes in about 3/4 of the way. I still ended up threading the steertube. I thinking if i shave the tool down it might actually fit, im going to attempt it and get back to you guys. Here is what oneup said about the edc threaded tool "EDC threaded Top Cap will not work (unless your steerer tube is 245mm or longer)"
@jensonusabicycles6 ай бұрын
@@SosBoss Thanks for the info! I cut my steerer relatively short, I have maybe 74mm above my headset cap of steerer/~20mm of spacers above and below my stem so I don't think there is any chance the tool will fit in mine. You're going to shave down the sides of the EDC tool? Is it the EDC V2 tool that you have?
