After driving mine for 3000km, the transmission is smooth now. There is a breaking in period. Also, from a stop, I was told that the transmission starts in 3rd gear and it takes time for computer to learn your driving habit before deciding to shift to 2nd or 1st gear. You can also try sports mode for smoother start from stop. I have a agree that the HVAC is a bit noisy. Two engine features I don't like is the Auto Start/Stop ( Happened at 16:04) and VCM. I feel that city driving with stops and starts will put a lot of wear and tear on the engine so I disable this every time I start the engine if I remember. . You just have to remember to push the button every time. And the other feature I am not fond of is the VCM or Variable Cylinder Management which turns the V6 into an inline 3, or is it V4 too? This feature is so smooth that you won't know it is happening but my guess is that it will put varying wear on some cylinders and not others. One more negative is the lack of a full sized spare in the Black Edition. You get a temporary spare on the underside. Better than nothing. But if I take my Pilot on a long trip, I am bringing with me a full sized spare. On the Trail sport you get the full sized spare, no other trim offers this. The reason why you cannot mount a full sized spare in this trim is because the inside trunk has a large storage place for the 2nd row middle seat which drops into where a full sized spare could have been mounted. Note that the Trail Sport does not have this storage place so it can have a full sized wheel mounted underneath. And the best feature is the safety. The side impact beam is a super high tensile piece of metal which gives this vehicle 5 stars for side impact from the NHTSA. One more point. For music using USB since no CD players are available anymore in this Pilot, the USB has to be 32 GB or smaller and formatted with FAT32. Otherwise it won't work.

9:04 I agree with this about all Hondas. They study the ergonomics unbelievably well, making everything in the car just make sense and intuitive. You don’t need to adjust to anything. That attention to detail is very appealing.

Hope you get a chance to check out the 2025 Passport Trailsport! I really like it based on the early reviews!

I'd be shocked if the pilot doesn't get the new infotainment for the mid cycle refresh, especially since the passport, which is basically the same dashboard, has the 12 inch for the 26 model.

I'm pretty sure they will add it when they do the mid-cycle refresh. Because when you look at the screen surrounding, there is a extra preserve space with cap that is clearly made for a bigger screen to fit in.

From your experience, how is Honda's 10 speed compared to Ford's? I had a Ranger previously with a very jerky 10 speed, it hated cold weather. Just bought a Passport with the 9 speed ZF and it's buttery smooth in comparison. How does Honda's 10 speed unit compare? Thanks.

Looking at the 26' Passport, it appears to have a bigger/better infotainment screen. I have to imagine that the infotainment screen in the Pilot will be replaced soon as well.

Honda will most likely increase the screen size for the 2026 model

The 3.5 v6 in the Pilot is not the same 3.5 V6 w/ VTEC that’s been out forever. I’m sure the new engine is fine, but it’s only been around d since this generation Pilot debuted. For some reason the base MDX still offers the old 3.5.

Reviewers never mention the replacement cost of hybrid batteries! Will they be available in 10-15 years when you pass it down?
@michaels798425 күн бұрын
Hybrids have been around for at least 3 decades. They are reliable, and most people never have to replace the battery. Maybe if you're keeping it for 500k+miles, but, for most people, they will never have to.

Compared with BMW X7, Audi Q7, Mercedes GLS, Tesla Model X, Toyota Highlander, Nissan Pathfinder, Hyundai Palisade & Others
@jakes553025 күн бұрын
the first 3 are luxury brands and cost $30-40k more than this. And the tesla’s an EV that also costs $30k more so none of those 4 compete whatsoever with the Pilot.

It’s a very nice SUV but I was surprised how “floaty” the suspension was specially the Trailsport trim. I didn’t like that part.
