We have a 2023 Elite model and it's been fantastic for us - zero issues. We've driven it from Central Texas to Maine and back again with 3 humans, two dogs and all our stuff and it was so comfortable and easy. The driving assistance features also made it a pleasure on such a long road trip. It's an absolute road trip queen. The removable middle seat is great, as is the Bose sound system. Hoping and expecting Honda reliability will give us many more years of trouble free ownership.

I have a 2023 Honda pilot elite and drove it up and back from Colorado to Alberta (home) with no issues. I personally love the Honda lineup and specifically the pilot, and I don’t get why you don’t recommend it more in your videos. Agreed it needs a bigger screen, but other than that it’s the perfect SUV. Love that it fits 7 pax, good pep to it, the different driving modes have proven to be useful especially trail and snow mode, lots of storage, HUD, Bose sound system, moon roof, Honda reliability, etc. I love watching this channel but it’s hard to relate to the push for anything electric. We live a farm/ranch lifestyle and it’s simply not practical for everyday life. I wouldn’t knock Honda for not creating a hybrid or going to turbo 4 cylinders. I love the V6. We also love our diesel trucks that can tow. For city folks electric and hybrids can work for sure, but in our industry that kind of vehicle doesn’t suit our needs. It’s ignorant to completely remove gas models by a certain time when they haven’t even proven that they have the tech to have vehicles last 700-800km on a “tank”. Keep SUVs gas until they figure that out and trucks diesel until they master towing without significant battery drainage. Don’t forget about all of us in the Ag industry.

They stopped shipping units june 9th and could possibly have a stop sell coming. In the video he said the drivers side air curtain isnt deploying properly in crash tests. The test dummies head slides besides the steering wheel and side curtain making it possible for the drivers head to hit the side pillar in an accident. Let's talk about reality on MPG. People talk about how great or poor their milage is. I have a 24 Honda Pilot Elite. I bought it new and have never reset trip B on my gauge cluster. I am just shy of 7k miles and have averaged 23.8 MPG. I have verified at each fill up and found the trip computers accuracy is almost perfect. The best mileage I ever recorded was on the highway. I drove nonstop for 93 miles. We averaged 31.8 MPG. There were four people and all our luggage on this trip.The wost tank was the first tank. It was winter, the Pilot was still breaking in, and it was mostly city driving, I averaged 18.5 MPG. My driving style is pretty mellow and more city than highway, with a disclaimer of a trip from Denver CO to Duluth MN and back. I would love to hear from other people what overall real-world milage you are getting on your vehicle. Not short trips, all downhill, never touching the fuel peddle replies, but real-world average mileage. Also, your driving style would be helpful as well. I believe this could help the vast majority of people know what to expect if they are interested in a vehicle's true mileage. I am personally interested in knowing if similar SUVS to the Piolt with a V6 , turbo 4, or hybrids in reality, over the long run, are that much different?

I'm looking to purchase a pilot trailsport because of the longevity and reliability of the V6, 18" tires, full size spare tire, towing capacity and built in hitch, rear AC, and flexibility of cabin space for our particular needs. It's one of the few midsize that I felt comfortable driving as I have limited depth perception and my daily is a smaller vehicle. We do go soft roading as we hike and drive off pavement, so the higher ride and extra protection will be nice. The ride is perfectly fine for our needs. Looks are the last thing I worry about, and the only reason I have a preferred color is because we often have dogs in the car, and white/silver stays far cooler than the darker colors. (The cooler temp also helps keep my car interior lasting longer, preserving my investment). Most everyone I know who has a pilot purchased it for practical reasons, not because "it looks cool". Perhaps you just surround yourself with a lot of shallow people.

Why aren't more people talking about this? even carrying a hitch rack, you can not go in reverse without the breaks slamming on you!, yes you can disable the function after scrolling through a large list of settings, but you have to do it every single time you start your vehicle. Honda puts it there to “improve safety” by making it closer to the road line compared to Jeep where you have to look down.

@@djplonghead5403It's basically the same on all Honda vehicles. We just purchased two 2024 Honda Vehicles in the month. 2024 Civic Sport Hatchback CVT 2.0 4ycyl that has 7 inch infotainment screen. Also just over a week ago we got 2024 HR-V EX-L AWD US version this came with 9 inch infotainment screen. I'm getting the Pilot Elite trim that has 9inch infotainment screen and Multi-View Camera System 360.

The first generation of the Pilot (2002?) was impressive. It was refreshing. It left an impression. The second generation (2008?) lacked that… a little bit, despite being still somewhat unique. The third generation (2015?) it became just another ‘bigger’ (still garage-able) SUV, with little advantages. This latest generation leaves… ZERO impressions on me. If it didn’t have a Honda badge on it… I honestly wouldn’t know what it was. Honda has the R&D, the engineering, the money and the design departments… and could have/should have done so much more. Thanks for the video.

People seem to forget Acura MDX. They don't want Pilot entering it's territory too much. To get most of the like features of a US Pilot Elite/Black Edition you would have to get Acura MDX Advance Package. But you have more premium features in the Acura.

The road network around QC's "Capital-Nationale" are mostly very good, especially along the North Shore in the touristy Charlevoix region... It's EVERY ROAD leading out toward Ontario, New Brunswick and the United States that appears to get ZERO funding for road maintenance & improvements.

Do you think Honda and Toyota are relying on the reliability and resale value of their products( they've earned it), but they don't seem to be focused on the tech and features that others offer. For some of us reliability is not high on the list, I own a 22 Santa Fe Hybrid, and the 10yr/100k powertrain for me trumps the reliability and resale of a Honda or Toyota. I don't keep any car as my main car after the warranty expires. I'm not dealing with no powertrain repairs out of pocket.
@life368996 ай бұрын
I believe all car brands have some reliability issues and even some lemons, but looking at overall scores on brands and models can give a pretty good indicator on reliability. Where reliability is important is when you are taking your pregnant wife to the hospital because her water broke and the transmission goes out, or you are heading to a wedding as the photographer and stop to get gas and the starter stops working etc.. A warranty gives a good piece of mind and will definitely save you money, but if your car is in for service a lot and/or is in for days or weeks, this is where reliability trumps warranty. Hyundai, Jeep, and Kia are rated the worst for customer satisfaction for auto repairs, according to Consumer Reports (2024). Hyundai and Kia rank #11 and #10 for reliability, again CR. Lexus and Toyota hold the top spots, and Acura and Honda are #4 and #5. I know several people who love Hyundai and Kia, and I have heard of people who dislike or had issues with Lexus and Toyota but your chances are much better of having a reliable vehicle if you stick with brands and models with good track records. Though I personally wonder, with the many changes to vehicles in recent years, especially larger vehicles with small displacement turbo charged engines and some brand new hybrid systems, what the future reliability numbers will show? I think leasing a new vehicle you really like with poor reliability history is smarter than purchasing. Purchasing a vehicle, with good reliability and resale value just makes sence.

This V6 has its share of problems, not sure this new current one. But VCM will cause problems around 100-140k miles for many owners. Must disable it. Honda needs to put this AWD system into the CRV and call it CRV Trailsport.
@rudfilАй бұрын
I think this V6 in the pilot had some major issues that’s why there was a huge recall lately. Another problem here is the prices on these vehicles are so unaffordable. The dealer lots are piling up of unsold vehicles in Canada and the US and costing dealerships $millions.
