Not apples to apples, when the RX9 is 3# heavier. You would need to add about 5 fps onto the RX8. You usually can add around 1-1/2 fps for every pound gained of peak draw weight.

There’s a short draw cam that goes from 23-27” that nobody is reviewing or even mentioning!!!

Why not just cut the rx9 down to 70 pounds? Seems to me like there’s not much of a difference at all until you get to the super short draw lengths
@MrRazorback19753 күн бұрын
I didn’t feel like the draw cycle was aggressive, slightly different from previous years, but 6 shots later I didn’t notice anything. The speed gains are a game changer for folks that don’t have that 30-31” draw length. At 70 lbs the RX9 Ultra produces the same speeds as my 80 lbs Ventum, just saying

I always wonder, what feels better, a speed bow at 70#, or a more comfortable bow at 80#
@MrRazorback19753 күн бұрын
@ a lot of variables, but my 80 lbs bow draws easier than the RX9. It has so much to do with which mod and where you are on that mod

They're both rated for 342. The 9 has a 3/8 shorter brace height. There's a reason they didn't post the comparison numbers on the website for the standards. Only for the ultras, that they dropped the brace height nearly an inch.

Look closely at the first hole through the riser by the bottom limb, they did actually change the riser they are different shapes. They had to change the riser with less reflex or shorter limbs wouldn’t have worked.

The 19 fps difference is between the RX8 Ultra and RX9 Ultra at 29" DL. There isn't as much difference in the shorter models.
@johnnewcomb51623 күн бұрын
It's basically the same down to 28 inches 16-19 fps
@WolfinWolvesClothing7132 күн бұрын
Because they shortened the brace height almost an inch.

Id like to know what the speed increase is for 27” draw from the rx8 vs rx9?
@WolfinWolvesClothing7132 күн бұрын
Most likely not a huge difference. There's a reason they didn't put the comparison numbers on the web sight for the standards. Only the ultra that they lowered the brace height almost an inch.

@MrRazorback1975 it's all personal preference. The more you like something, the cooler you personally think it is etc... most likely the better you'll perform with it. Personally I can't stand the way the pse carbons look. I'm sure they're nice, but not my choice.

Buddy need about 1.5 inch shorter DL. He said it didn’t look bad on you just the vanes touching your molars. 😅😅😅 10 fps? So 3.5 pounds is only 1fps? Jesus come on put decent info out there atleast. This is Walmart type knowledge.

Mach all day over Hoyt
@MrRazorback19753 күн бұрын
Nah, tested both and the RX9 outperformed the Mach. That being said, the Mach 33 is a great bow and it will likely come down to personal preference
@calebsmith14543 күн бұрын
Good lord Hoyt is so out dated. In your bow reviews, will you measure the full draw stability?That is the Bray site at full draw.I'm wanting to know if all the bows brace hides get longer like the p s e period that's why the mock thirty was the bow of the year last year because the brace height is almost eight inches at full drop
@MrRazorback19753 күн бұрын
I’ve seen the sales pitch for the Mach. The RX9 outperforms the Mach in speed and it’s dramatically better at the shorter DL’s, it also provides 1/4” adjustments which I find useful.
@Rikcey3 күн бұрын
My 2014 Hoyt Nitrum does have a longer "brace height" at full draw, just like my PSE Fortis 33 S2 (with FDS). I think most bows do that honestly. Maybe the waaaay past parallel Lift doesn't, but I believe that would be an outlier.
